What "national security issues" are they interviewing people about? Aid to Ukraine? That is public knowledge.

To be holding something inside a SCIF, classified information should be being discussed, not merely something that we don't want the public, the news media, or Republicans that aren't on the "intelligence" committee to hear - even though this does not fall into the venue of the intelligence committee's normal duties. That brings up another question ... why are they the ones doing the investigation instead of the Judiciary Committee?

These “hearing” are being held in secret so the public cannot see the bias the unfairness, and the lack of supporting evidence driving these so called impeachment hearings. lol...that may be---but Im correct. The Democrats are given virtually unlimited time and the Republicans get 90 seconds. So, yes, the Republicans are being prevented from doing any meaningful questioning. Such farcical behavior would be mocked mercilessly were it done in the light of day away from the Schiff "Star Chamber". The process is complete looney toons and will never be accepted by the public. Any survey says the hearing should be public, fair, and open. So, why arent they?
