I know, it’s funny to me. If this type stuff upsets people then maybe they should take a break from the inter webs.

Are they though? They beat Tennessee but so did Georgia State.

I'd certainly have USF ranked above ECU. ECU hasn't beat anybody with an RPI better than 140.

This. And anyone that has us ranked over Houston has lost their mind.

I don't have a problem with Memphis ahead of Cincy, but there is no delusion involved ranking them in either order. There is plenty for an argument for UC over Memphis.

Well, UC tried to get Southern, South Alabama and UL-Monroe on the schedule so we could beat them and talk tough... but their openings were all hogged up by Memphis.

RE: Rank the AAC after week 8
Per random blog, Slackie Brown

https://slackiebrown.com/aac-football-we...dule-odds/

#12: UConn (1-6, -)

No surprise here. Huskies kept it close at home against Houston but no cigar. They’ll probably beat UMass this weekend, though.

#11 Tulsa (2-5, -)

The most penalized team in college football.

#10: South Florida (3-4, -2)

Had won two games in a row but their offense was totally shut down against Navy. On the other side, they really struggled against the triple-option.

#9: Houston (3-4, +1)

Coach’s son, Logan Holgorsen, led the Cougars to a win against UConn.

#8: East Carolina (3-4, +1)

One of the most fun teams to watch in the AAC despite their record.

#7: Tulane (5-2, -2)

All the fun ended against Memphis. It’s unacceptable for anyone besides UConn to lose by 30 in this league.

#6: Temple (5-2, -3)

SMU is the class of the AAC this year but the Owls couldn’t run the ball for anything. UCF-Temple is must-see TV this weekend.

#5: Navy (5-1, +2)

Riding a three-game winning streak. Their only loss was a 12-point defeat against Memphis. Defense is the only AAC unit allowing fewer than 20 points per game.

#4: Memphis (6-1, +2)

Took out their frustrations from the Temple game on Tulane.

#3: UCF (5-2, +1)

See above…except UCF’s frustrations were from Cincinnati and ECU was the team getting the beating.

#2: Cincinnati (6-1, -)

Defense is turning heads. They have forced 14 turnovers in three AAC games.

#1: SMU (7-0, -)

Another impressive outing from the Mustangs, beating a very good Temple team by four scores. Moved up to No. 16 in national rankings.

Take Ohio State of that schedule and that thing comes apart like fat after taking a girdle off. UC should be ranked number 2 though.

I personally ranked Memphis ahead of Cincinnati this week. But yes, Cincinnati definitely played better teams in the non-conference and it's not even really close. Here are the rankings according to Sagarin:

#1 Ohio State
#60 UCLA
#95 Marshall
#106 Miami (OH)

#57 Ole Miss
#120 Louisiana Monroe
#174 South Alabama
#189 Southern

Even throwing out the Ohio State game, Ole Miss and UCLA are nearly dead even in the computer rankings. Keep in mind, Ole Miss has beaten nobody (their 3 wins are 2-5 Arkansas, 2-5 Vandy, and FCS SE Louisiana), so the only thing they have to hang their hat on is being in the SEC. And as for the other 3 games Memphis has played, they were against far lesser quality opponents than anyone Cincinnati has played.

To put the above in different terms, think about what the Vegas odds would be if the 4 teams Cincinnati played out of conference played the 4 teams Memphis played:

Ohio State vs. Ole Miss -- Ohio State would be about a 3 touchdown favorite
UCLA vs. Louisiana Monroe -- UCLA would be at least a 2 touchdown favorite
Marshall vs. South Alabama -- Marshall would be about a 2 touchdown favorite
Miami (OH) vs. Southern -- Miami would be at least a 2 touchdown favorite

Good schedule no doubt about it. Our schedule is weak. Cincinnati should be number #2 on everybody's list.

Memphis might be better than Cinci, but I’m pretty sure Ohio State would crush Memphis’ nuts too.

Even though La Monroe lost to FSU by a missed extra point and UCLA got crushed by 2 TDs to Oregon State? I doubt if UCLA, as bad as they are, would be favored by 2 TDs over anyone, even at home. Sure they beat a very bad Stanford team for their only good win, but they are anything but good. Marshall wouldn't be 2 TD favorites over anyone either. I get your point though.

UCLA is Sagarin #60.
Temple is Sagarin #77

I would also say UCLA's win over Washington State should qualify as a good win.
