Just make a bit Trophy / Cup with Erk Russell on one side and Jerry Moore on the other and use that for the series. Problem solved.
The Black & Blue Bowl
Trophy is a pair of brass knuckles

Actually I think it's better if you do a water jug and a corn cob pipe on it. Don't put people on it, cause as good as Jerry Moore was, he's no Erk Russell, and they only played each other a couple of times anyway.
Erk never beat App

Black and Blue game is already a Boone (down 321 to Lenoir) area rivalry game name. May be a good fit from a Marketing standpoint.

Does 14-1 not count? Or 13-2? First school to win three straight national championships? Winning record against Georgia Southern? None of it?
Fun Fact: The last time App State played on Halloween it was on ESPN2 on a Friday night against Number 3 Wofford. App won 70-24. Better keep your bags packed.

Eh...still think it's relevant trash talk for a game 3 weeks out.
Hoping App can keep it up so the banter is ratcheted up a few notches.

RE: Defining the App State/Georgia Southern rivalry
So should we try to push this "Black and Blue Brawl" thing? You know, on all the social media and all that fun stuff. I think it's fun, and could beef up banter in the time before the game
EDIT: it would also be cool to say that the name started here.

The word brawl could get some push back from the safe spacers.

If you're referring to the thing with the Red River Shootout, this version has no guns. Safe space acceptable! *puke*
Also, I started a Twitter poll to see if people liked it: If yall wanna spread it among your respective communities, feel free

We also beat Furman in 2009.
Here's a Halloween Game article (from March 2019!) that talks about our Halloween victories. We're 10-3 in all Halloween games

Someone on Twitter just suggested "The Battle for the Paddle," as homage to both teams' histories as teacher's colleges

RE: Defining the App State/Georgia Southern rivalry
Every year I feel like this rivalry loses some of that fire. Albeit, GaSo beat us last year, and it definitely hurt, but I’m not as gung-ho about them as I used to be. Maybe it’s because of recent years and their coaching issues, which Summers effed that school up BADLY, as much as I loved it, he screwed us out of a good competitor
Y’all just hurry up and crack the top 25. If this rivalry wants to thrive, we both need to be killing it. Personally, I don’t want a trophy or title for our game either, but just two powerhouses going after #1 in our conference

All you need to do is go to a game in Statesboro and you'll get fired right back up. By far the absolute worst visiting fan experience in the game.
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

This game puts people in seats. Doesnt matter how well each team is doing. (Though according to history, the underdog should feel better going into this game)
EDIT: It was only 20k last year. Looked like a LOT more on TV

I've seen smaller crowds than that announced at 20k, it felt like a lot more.
There's been a running conversation among our fanbase recently about how we're reporting attendance cause things just feel off.

Yeah, 20k really seems off. Ya'll were loud as hell that night, and I dont think a 20k crowd does that.
