3. Western Michigan

This Week

7. Northern Illinois
8. Miami
9. Buffalo
10. Bowling Green St
11. Ohio
12. Akron
---Rockets maintain #1, but don't seem quite the powerhouse
---Both Broncos and Chippewas getting the Ws; Broncos hold tiebreaker
---Cardinals and Golden Flashes getting it done now that Conference play is in full-swing
---Eagles dropping after 2 bad losses
--- Huskies thru Redhawks a log-jam.
----I have the Huskies at the top spot in that jam; the East teams beat-up on each other and the Huskies just beat one of those East teams, so Huskies at the top of that.
---I have the Falcons climbing a spot due to their win over the Rockets.
---To determine the 8, 9 and 11 spots (the Redhawks, Bulls, and Bobcats): The Bulls seem better then 11, being the only team thus far to have beaten Temple. At the same time, they lost to both the Bobcats and the Redhawks. So they seem to be the 'average' or 'middle' of the 3. So then I decided to give Ohio the 11th spot instead of Miami because (as of now) the Bobcats loss to the Huskies seems 'worse' then the Redhawks loss to the Broncos

To paraphrase an old horse racing quip, Daylight is 12th and then comes Akron bringing up the rear.
Too early to gloat, though, need to at least split the BBall games with them to truly claim the Wagon Wheel.

How is EMU ahead of us when we smashed them by 30 points, have a better MAC record, and better overall record?

Dear george14,
We were thumped by Central, but to be exact, it was 26 points not 30.

RE: This Week's Rankings
I gave up trying to figure out MaddDawgz's ranking system a long time ago.
Eastern is sitting at 0-2 in the real life MAC rankings and '1b' in his rankings.

RE: This Week's Rankings
People are reading too much into MaddDawgz' "ranking."
All he did was copy n' paste bronco14's Last Week list and made all top 11 teams tied for 1st place (so 1b is not necessarily ranked above 1c).
Correctly illustrating, in a TIC way, that the MAC is even more jumbled than ever and ranking them, even after Week 7, appears really difficult. Except Akron which seems to be the unanimous vote for the cellar.

RE: This Week's Rankings
1. Toledo (despite the BG loss, they are the top team based on body of work)
2. WMU (ahead of CMU, but behind UT)
3. CMU (lost to WMU but played the U very close and dominated EMU/Akron)
4. Ball St (a couple MAC wins and a couple close losses to superior teams)
5. Kent St (very difficult read on this team)
6. NIU (can't count them out until they are eliminated....murderous schedule to end the season)
7. Ohio (very underwhelming thus far)
8. Miami (I don't think they are good, but they should rack up a few more MAC wins)
9. EMU (You have to rank them low based on MAC losses, but they are capable of beating anyone)
10. BG (No idea how they beat UT)
11. UB (No idea how they beat Temple)
12. Akron (horrendous)
This is very tough right now. BG really threw a wrench into things with a win over Toledo. I still think they rank low though, it's about the whole season thus far, not just one game. Hell, maybe they upset CMU this week and make me eat my words. I think the top 3 teams are clear...just my opinion. But the MAC is indeed wide open this year. I think every team aside from Akron is capable of beating any other team. It would not shock me to see a MACCG of 5-3 MAC teams.

RE: This Week's Rankings
Pretty interesting comparing where things stand right now and where the preseason prognostications were. Outside of Toledo and WMU being towards the top for most folks, the rest of the teams are nearly inverted.
Raise your hand if you had BSU to be the last undefeated team in the West...

Let me rephrase this
Tier 1
Every team except Akron
Tier 2
Akron
