Southern Miss' biggest weakness right now is our run game and our defensive secondary. What is North Texas' biggest weaknesses? The entire defense? Pass-blocking?

Yes. Plus kick coverage and game planning.

Offensive and defensive lines.
Of course last week our kick return and punt return games were trash. Our special teams haven't been an issue, so hopefully it isn't an issue again.

Sounds like a tie in the works...7 OT's and then a weather delay. Game Called. Very unsatisfying!

This statement is not necessarily about this one game but really about the whole season. As I stated, because this game is at home (and all other things considered) I predict we'll win a close game. I'd be much more worried if this game was on the road...I'd prob. just chalk it up as a loss.

I have hope we can win, but this is a really bad matchup for us. We are terrible against a good passing QB and they have one of top passing QBs in the nation. Our only hope is the defensive line gets tons of pressure on him.

Where we are bad, UNT is bad. Where we are good, UNT is good. However, I think our D line and special teams are better.

It is hard to compare teams when we have played very different OOC opponents. I know some are down on North Texas because we are 2-3, but I've watched our team all season, and we have the talent put up big numbers in conference play (in the air and on the ground). Our defense gets a bad rap, but they are currently 4th in C-USA in total defense, and tied with Southern Miss in points allowed. I think it will be a very interesting game. I think whichever coach loses this game is going to have a tough time keeping the support of his fan base for the rest of the season.

My thoughts exactly. I do feel our defensive line will get some good pressure on him though. I want to beat this team more than anyone. They far and away have the most annoying fan on any discussion board I have ever been on.
And who might that be?

I get most of my NT info from your posts.
Your passing game is good. Your pass D is bad. Both your O line and D line are bad. Your special teams took a step back.

The line is currently USM -5. I imagine it'll prob. go down to -3 or -2 by kickoff. I'm very curious to see which USM team shows up for this game. We've yet to play a complete game this year. I do think that the final score will be something like 31-28, 28-24, 31-27, 33-30, 28-27, 27-24, 34-31...it's almost a coin-flip who will win.
