Well ... there goes a walk on in at OL and one less in the platoon for the already thin DL.

Back up DE Joshua Kaindoh out for the season. FSU switched to a 3-4 defense this season because we lacked a true edge rusher. Kaindoh never quite lived up to his 5 star billing, but he was still a decent player. Also heard he was a good student and team mate.

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 4
Coach Satterfield revealed yesterday that our backup quarterback could have came back Saturday after getting his helmet ripped off and his bell rung. Coach said he decided to keep our #3 guy in to give the true freshman some game reps.
I would expect Malik Cunningham to start the game Saturday against FSU.

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 4
Even with Florida State struggling to be "Florida State", this is still a huge game for Satterfield and the boys. A game to show they are more than what they were expected to be pre-season.
On paper, the Cards have no business competing in this game.
Can the Cards overcome where they are mismatched?
Or will Florida State find their confidence in this one, and roll over the Cards?
I suspect it will be somewhere in between. But I think for the first time this season, FSU doesn't wear down ... and the Cards lack of depth shows up late ...
Noles in a fairly close one. I think the Vegas boys have it pretty well pegged. 6.5 - 7 point win for FSU.

Another thing that could happen to further diminish the ACC reputation would be for Tennessee to beat Florida this weekend. Florida beat Miami but loses to a team that lost to GA State and BYU? I can hear the pundits now.

So we know the ACC needs FSU to beat Florida, but does it need Miami to beat FSU?
I was hoping S. Carolina would beat Alabama, but can they beat SOMEBODY, please?

The ACC is down this year but we also have a great collection of coaches, arguably the best. Dabo, Mack, Cutcliffe, Bronco & Dino are all proven coaches. Clawson is doing great at WF & the same for Addazio at BC. Narduzzi has been solid at Pitt. I feel good about the future.

I think for sure the following coaches are good fits for their school: Dabo, Addazio, Clawson, Cutcliffe, Doeren, Mendenhall, and Brown. They would be fools to fire these guys.
Satterfield, Diaz and Collins are wait and see, but look promising right now.
Narduzzi, Taggart, Fuentes, Dino is getting to the point where they need to poop or get off the pot. I’m giving each another year.

To me, Collins and Diaz are both unproven - too soon to sing their praise. OTOH, I think Babers has shown much improvement considering how bad that team was - I don't see his seat being warm at all.
Fuente is on a 3-year decline; if he doesn't get that turned around soon, he's gone. I also question how safe Addazio is after last week. That was brutal!

Babers seat is just fine right now. There would have to be a total letdown on this season before his seat gets remotely warm. He'll probably get SU to only its 8th bowl since 2000. Remember this guy got SU to win 10 games last season when they were predicted to be last in the Atlantic. He AINT goin nowhere. Unless he has a disastrous season this year and next year.

Dino is probably safe, but I’d think he would lose that goodwill from last season if he sputters to a 6-6 or worse.
Addazio seems like the right fit to me. He lost a lot of players off of last year’s team so their struggles are somewhat understandable. The guy is typically good for 7-8 wins a year and he could very well manage another bowl trip this year.

Fans of FSU and VT can look at BC and we think "7 wins - that's good for them"... but do BC fans see it that way? I doubt it.

7 wins gets boring after a while, but I think Steve Addazio could find a lightly recruited rare talent at QB that can get them over the hump for a year or two. I guess what I am suggesting is to hold steady until that day comes. Really, is 7-8 wins every year bad for BC?

Since 1980, only four of the current members of the ACC have managed to average 7 wins a year, so I'd have to say that's not bad.

Narduzzi has the third best ACC record since he was hired. Only Clemson and Miami have more league wins than Narduzzi. His seat isn't even tepid. If our former AD hadn't over scheduled, Pitt would be a 9-10 win team.

Last year Pitt hosted Penn State AND visited UCF AND visited Notre Dame. All three were losses. The Panthers only lost 2 ACC games, but the perception was negative because (1) those OOC losses do count, and (2) one of the ACC losses was to a 2-win UNC team.
Still, your point is well taken about overscheduling... it would be a lot stronger if Narduzzi had ever beaten UNC though.

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 4
Did not Pitt lose the last 3 games and 4 of 5 of the 2018 season? This is now Narduzzi’s 4th year. I don’t see how Pitt fans can’t be a little restless. They still have yet to find a coach as good as Wandstedt, which in hindsight was a bad firing. That’s why I think Addazio should be safe if the fans and AD had any sense, BC is overachieving with him at the helm.

After Pitt’s last round on the coaching carousel I don’t see them as being anxious to jump back on.
I remember Narduzzi being a candidate for the Louisville job before Petrino was brought back. I hope the experiment has better results in Chapel Hill.

FWIW, I see that Mark May endorsed Coach Narduzzi in an interview with the Gazette.
