I hope he cant hit the broad side of a barn on Saturday because Western's defense is geared to stopping the run. This defense has done a helluva job over the last few weeks doing just that.

The RB checkdown seems to be a foreign concept in this Cramsy offense.

King was a good back for this. Is he still in the doghouse? I think he is an electronic player.

Well, I guess you could say he got kicked out of the doghouse, since he has been kicked off the team for weeks. He should of been in prison.

I don't respect WKU at all, but I also don't respect our other wordly awful offense with Green at QB either. This will be a supremely low scoring, ugly game.

I almost don't want to ask, I don't live in Huntington anymore, and don't read the Herald Dispatch. What did King do?

On second thought, if you're telling me it was that bad, I'll let it go.

Crazy, that kid had so much talent. It's amazing how some of these players can't stay on the straight and narrow path. He had NFL potential.

If I had to guess I believe he left out offense right after WKU and in that case....

I dont know of anyone that respects our offense. Not even Western fans

If Western can some how beat Marshall and then beat FAU the following week Western wins the east. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

I believe its a 50/50 shot Western can win 4 out of the remaining 5 or lose all 5

Army started strong but they are fizzling quickly. That's not saying WKU and Ga State aren't good teams because they are it's just the win over Army isn't that big of a deal this year.

Interesting. A clash of strengths. Running the ball is about the only good thing we can do on offense.

I know wku has a tough stretch of games but I’m glad that we had it easier in the beginning to get the losing culture out of the program. That is one of the hardest things for a new coach to accomplish.

Yes, much respect for the rebound. It could have easily, easily went downhill very fast after losing to Central Arkansas.

That loss still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, and clouds a little bit of the prestige for Western so far.

Gotta love it. That’s football at it’s finest. We celebrated my oldest son’s birthday Friday night and watched your game against FAU in the background. I was actually very impressed with both teams. The 4th quarter was really exciting football. I thought they had y’all but you were having none of it and came right back down.

As Guns (and I) have said this defense has been performing well, very well...but we haven’t faced a QB that can rip us a new one down the field.

Charlotte’s QB was very elusive and led them on 2 impressive first half touchdown drives by escaping the rush and tossing some pretty nice passes. After that.....not much and we were able to shut LeMay down the entire game. He did burn us on a long pass out of the backfield on that second touchdown. But he got below his average on the ground.

One thing that I think really helped our secondary against Charlotte was we had our best cover corner back. I honestly thought he was gone for the year. Assumed he would be redshirting as he had not played a minute all year. He had one pass interference call that was completely horseshitt. He possibly could have been called for ‘taunting’ after the play but it damn sure wasn’t interference. The ref right on the play called nothing. The ref 25 yards away magically saw the contact. He was 25 yards down the sideline near the line of scrimmage in a direct line with the two players. He must have used his Clark Kent glasses to make that call. No matter. Cray intercepted the ball a couple plays later.

You can be assured that Clayton White’s dee will whole heartedly sell out to stop the run. It’ll be up to your QB to beat us. It’s been the game plan all year. On offense we’re gonna try to eat up clock. At least that’s been the plan so far this year. In the first quarter against Charlotte they took the kickoff and ate up 7 and a half minutes, maybe 8 minutes to open up 7-0 lead. We then ate up the rest of the first quarter to get our first score. Not sure I remember seeing that before. Two drives eating up a whole quarter.

I totally understand it. FAU has a problem winning close games. No matter the record, most close games we lose. This is a thing about team's culture.

Here's a WKU fact...

after giving up 21 in the 4th qt to a FCS school. Western has gave up a total of 25 points in the 2nd half vs the other 6 teams. 8 of those points came with a little over a minute to play vs Army, Western up 17-0.

When you beat teams in the 2nd half of a game, consistently...that's coaches making adjustments. On the other hand Western has not had to come from behind in the 5 wins.

Marshall...odds say if you are not winning at the half. You lose on Saturday

If Western can beat Marshall it just about pushes Marshall out of the running for the East. That would be 2 divisional losses for Marshall and the 2nd tie breaker after head to head. They would need FAU to beat Western then lose to FIU ...

They would also need Western to lose to Middle if it came down to a 2 loss team winning the East. But even then it would depend on if Tech or UAB won the West.

But still way too much football to be played with FAU, Marshall and Western still having cross divisional games with USM/Tech. Hell if Western loses the next 2 games, FIU is back in the running by winning out
