That was noticeable. It was so quiet you could heat the music blasting away from the tailgates of students who don’t actually go into the stadium

I don't know if he's as much taking attendance smack as he is flummoxed. Holiday weekend sec school in a world class drinking City that y'all have owned for games against much lesser opponents should be Cajun Christmas. Was expecting 40k for you guys. Was there a lot of pricing out of the market or was the 11 pm start or something a factor. Miss state is definitely a better draw then ECU

Three things hurt attendance this weekend, first it hard to make it to a 11 am game, especially the day after Louisiana high schools jamborees, people don’t get home till 11 pm then they don’t really wanna change get the kids ready and drive to Nola. Also a lot of families didn’t travel to the game because this weekend was the largest homosexual festival in the country in New Orleans, and parents don’t want to have to explain to kids why a 300 pound man is dressed like Peter Pan is holding another dudes hand that is just wearing a thong.

Our crowd last night was not any different than any game I attended last season.

That is disappointing. We got 38K when Miss State came to Ladd, would have been 40K but there were bus issues getting people into the stadium, and out of cold water to sell.

38k was the sellout capacity. Capacity for USA games isn’t quite the same as it is for Senior Bowl. For instance, our band takes up an entire section that would fit in a lot more people if they weren’t there. With that said, we still had bus issues that caused people to get to the game late and Ladd had issues running out of water. But it’s unfair to compare our game in Mobile to their game in New Orleans. It would be like us playing our home game in Gulfport.

Attendance for us next week is going to blow because of this hurricane

Classes are cancelled and a mandatory evacuation for Savannah is underway

Hilarious...but reasonable reason to skip this one. Wouldn't want to subject my kids to that either.

You have tailgaters that dont go to the game? Not judging but in all my years I have never heard of such a thing. So you pay for food and beer and stand outside in the heat for 3 hours then go home? Lol that doesnt sound right.

When I was at Iowa it seemed like there was just as many who tailgated and didn’t go to the game than those in attendance at the game.

**** man. TXST has had some games through the years where we probably have 10k students tailgating and 1k in the stands.

Been a huge problem for as long as tailgating has existed at TXST.

I have to say that I am surprised at the attendance in the Mercedes Superdome on Saturday, especially on Mississippi State's part. They traveled well in 2014, when South hosted them at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and there was 38,129 fans attending.

Hate 11 AM starts and I imagine that a "pride" event could really dampen the family feel!! LOL I imagine the SEC drove that start time.

We had a ton of people out tailgating but I think a bunch left at kickoff because SCar kicked off at 3:30 also

Troy might just lead the league in attendance again, assuming we will maintain having a good team this season.

We still have home games against: Southern Miss, Arkansas State, South Alabama, Georgia Southern, and App State... all of which should carry high interest among our fans, and those teams travel well.
