The MWC board should be activated to “ active board “ status

???
The MWCbbs board is “ inactive “ status right now, there is a little bit of activity mybe enough to activate

The MWC has a very active board here:
https://www.mwcboard.com/
Several AAC fans post in it.

Then go get on it

What do you think this is, the SEC?

This conference isn’t about history.

We don't have the history.

But we have an attitude to constantly prove something because we resent the step-brother treatment from the flagship schools like UGA and Tech, despite being the biggest R1 research school in the state. Does that qualify? 03-lmfao

Great win for you guys. To do it at Rocky Top is a major coup. Go ahead and puff your chests out for a while. You've earned it.

I pushed hard for Georgia State in another thread until @panama convinced me that GSU just wasn't ready yet... Now they look ready...

Ga State is the one team in the SBC that the AAC could invite. They are a major research school in a major city, which describes 2/3 of the league's schools. It basically doesn't matter how good the others are, the league would never invite them.

May not be a bad addition for the AAC. I thought Georgia State had the potential of recruiting SEC transfers and overlooked HS schools down South.

Georgia State also has a pretty decent basketball program under Ron Hunter who is now at Tulane.

Too bad VCU doesn't have a football program. If they did, the AAC could look strong along the east coast from Temple to Central Florida/South Florida.

The AAC's Baseball RPI will take a major hit, but that's a 3rd or 4th level issue. At least they try to field a baseball team.(Looking at you, rich private schools and Temple)

I don't think we should be in a hurry to add anyone, but if this is the start of a 3 or 4 year run of success for Georgia State, they would be probably be my top choice outside of a few of the western schools. Institutionally and geographically they would be a great fit, and they are a huge school, so their alumni base will continue to grow. I've said it before, but they definitely have UCF-like potential.

If Georgia State was in the AAC their recruiting would improve the minute membership was announced, and with the added income they would be able to spend more to improve their overall status.

I've pushed for Buffalo as well but the only two schools with the potential to duplicate what UCF did are FIU and Georgia State.

We don’t need to add anyone.

If anything we need to kick out Tulsa.

In our entire history, UCF football has played in 6 Conference championship games, going 4-2. Both of the losses were to Tulsa.(2005/2012)
The last team to beat UCF in a regular season game: Tulsa 2016

But we do, as long as UCF wants out of the AAC, the AAC must have another potential UCF ready to take center stage. 03-wink

BYU is really the only program that adds new value.

The invite might never come... P5 expansion feels dead to me. Expand when a school leaves. Replace a Florida school with one of the F_Us or a Texas school with a relevant Texas program.

That’s fine, we our entire history we have lost to a lot of teams that I don’t feel merit an AAC invite. Georgia Southern and Marshall come to mind.

I just think it’s a small tv market and fan base.

UAB has more going for it than Ga State IMHO...esp when you consider they're getting a new stadium and they have a solid basketball tradition.
