if Marshall or UAB was playing App, would you consider it a "winnable" game?

If we played them I would give it a 50/50 chance. Old rivalry with lots of history and I'd give a slight edge to the home team. Certainly winnable but also certainly an accomplishment to beat them. I would imagine their fans feel begrudgingly the same way. Charlotte's one advantage is that Appy doesn't respect them, yet, and may overlook them them depending on who else is on the schedule around that game.

App has a bye week after the Charlotte game, so I don't think we will be looking past anyone. It's true that many App fans give Charlotte no respect, but I don't believe that's true of the team and coaches. Coach Drink says all the right things indicating the "one game at a time" mentality but I guess we will see how this season goes. I think Charlotte played a better game last year than the score indicated. The App Defense shut them down in the red zone but it's not like they were going 3 and out. I will be in Boone for the game and look forward to a good one.
Fortunately this year our defense should be even better (they did pretty well against y'all ladt year until they got worn out) and y'all lost a lot on defense.

I still don't think we win this one but I think it'll be a better game than last year.

It will be interesting to see how things play out. The Charlotte D did play well against our running game last year, which is why Zac was throwing the ball more than expected. App's offense will probably be better than last year (10 returning starters) with a deeper running corps and more aggressive philosophy (Coach Drink). On defense, we did lose 4 starters but we rotate players on defense quite a bit so the guys stepping in generally have significant experience. CB is our biggest question mark with both of our starters from last year gone.

I do think Charlotte will continue to improve. I hope both our coaching transitions go well and the rivalry takes roots. In my opinion, it just makes sense.

No.

We have UMass at home between these two road games and I expect after the horrible first quarter in Amherst last year no one on the Niners squad will be thinking about Clemson till the time on that game reads 0:00.

I'm looking at that as the most important game of the year, must win if we want to go bowling.

Yep. I ’member that one.

Penalties
14-120 - USM
3-29 - Tennessee

If I remember correctly they didn't get their first penalty until something like the 4th quarter. We still outgained them 279 yards to their 210. The sec refs will get you.

One of the most winnable SEC games we have ever played.
Will take a huge dose of toughness to overcome in Neyland.

Tenn will be better this year than last year. And with all UAB lost hard to see this as a winnable game.

Yep not happening. Hard to replace 24 and 25 year olds NCAA exemptions.

Don’t be surprised if UAB loses to USA

Don’t be surprised if we beat La Tech’s ass again 05-stirthepot

One thing is sure, we will see how good of a coach Clark really is. It will take a stellar coaching job to make a bowl. If he does, I’ll be the first to give a ‘beers up’......

Clark has already proven how good a coach he is. We have a more talented squad top to bottom than we ever had, but we are going to have some huge shoes to fill. I’d be pretty shocked if UAB didn’t make a bowl this year though.

clt may be biased on some points just because airport is named after him.

Give me Charlotte by just π/2.

His 1st season at UAB showed Clark was a good coach.
