CUSA's winnable OOC games this year that can increase CUSA's perception
Of course, not losing to teams we have no business losing to helps keep CUSA's perception from falling. And of course beating teams we have no business beating certainly help's increase CUSA's value perception. But here's a list of CUSA OOC games that I think are both winnable AND can impact our conference's perception this year:

Week 1
FIU @ Tulane
Rice @ Army (how good is Army this year?)

Week 2
Marshall @ Boise State
UAB @ Akron
USM @ Mississippi State
Charlotte @ App State
UCF @ FAU
UNT @ SMU

Week 3
Army @ UTSA
Louisville @ WKU (Nashville)
UNT @ Cal
Southern Miss @ Troy
Ohio @ Marshall
Duke @ MTSU

Week 4
USA @ UAB
Nevada @ UTEP (could the Miners grab a good OOC win?)

Week 5
Cincy @ Marshall
ECU @ ODU
Houston @ UNT (this could be a good game)

Week 7
Army @ WKU

Week 10
UAB @ Tennessee (can UAB pull off an upset?)

Week 11
WKU @ Arkansas

Week 13
UTEP @ New Mexico State
Miami @ FIU (this could be a good game)

Your thoughts?

If that’s “winnable” then you might as well list each OOC game (56 of them) and say they're all “winnable”.

Week 1
FIU @ Tulane - FIU
Rice @ Army (how good is Army this year?) - Army

Week 2
Marshall @ Boise State. - Marshall is going to be good, but this is at Boise. - Boise
UAB @ Akron - UAB
USM @ Mississippi State - I think we have a good chance, but it is at their house. - MSU
Charlotte @ App State - App
UCF @ FAU - UCF, but they aren't going to be nearly as good as last year. I hope FAU can pull it out.
UNT @ SMU. - UNT

Week 3
Army @ UTSA - Army
Louisville @ WKU (Nashville) - Louisville
UNT @ Cal - I really feel UNT is going to pull this off if Fine is still healthy at this point.
Southern Miss @ Troy. - We will win this one. A must win with MSU and Alabama being the other non-conference games.
Ohio @ Marshall - Marshall
Duke @ MTSU - Duke

Week 4
USA @ UAB - UAB
Nevada @ UTEP (could the Miners grab a good OOC win?) - Nevada. They are going to have a good team this year.

Week 5
Cincy @ Marshall - Cincinnati. They are bringing back a pretty good team, but at least Marshal has them at home.
ECU @ ODU - Push
Houston @ UNT (this could be a good game) - One of these team's QBs will be hurt by this point. The team with the healthy QB will win. I hope UNT wins all their non-conference games, but I just can't see them coming out winning all of them.

Week 7
Army @ WKU - Army

Week 10
UAB @ Tennessee (can UAB pull off an upset?) - UT

Week 11
WKU @ Arkansas - Arkansas - Y'all have a great non-conference schedule this year.

Week 13
UTEP @ New Mexico State - UTEP will get rolling and beat their rival
Miami @ FIU (this could be a good game) - This should be good, but Miami might just win based off depth of the roster.

I will be pulling for C-USA in all these games. Just trying to be realistic.

Your thoughts?

Army is receiving votes in all the listings I've seen. Right at the Top25 border. The game is at West Point. It would be a huge upset f we win.

RE: CUSA's winnable OOC games this year that can increase CUSA's perception
If Marshall doesn't take care of business against three of the top teams in G5 conferences then we are going nowhere. We have no P5 game to give a good showing and garner respect, so if we want any, then 2 of those must be wins and a good showing in the third. We already know Doc ***** the bed vs Ohio, regularly. So we need a small miracle there, and then either Boise away (always tough) or Cincy at home (more likely, but again a small miracle).

UAB can play with TN.
One of the most winnable SEC games we have ever played.
Will take a huge dose of toughness to overcome in Neyland.

clt loves UAB and the points. Charlotte hung with them at UT, and they had a DB transfer here. Go get em

Army only brings back 4 starters on defense. But, Army relies on "there system" more than talented personnel. They will simply plug in guy that has been in the system and won't make mistakes. No, they probably won't be as good as last year, but they will still be among the better programs outside of the P5's. I don't give Rice or any other C-USA program much of a chance against Army this season. Army controls the clock, gets their 3 yards every play, and won't punt. It is a very difficult system to stop. And, doing so, puts your defensive linemen's knees at risk.

They are going to have a great team. Army is projected to have an even better team this year. They will be favored in all their games but Michigan. They might even give Michigan trouble.

Stick to the game plan and just don't "Coog it".

UAB beating Akron will not increase the conference perception. UAB losing that game will most definitely hurt the perception of CUSA because Akron isn't expected to be that good this year.

Tenn will be better this year than last year. And with all UAB lost hard to see this as a winnable game.

I agree with all those who say Rice @Army is not one of our more winnable games (unlike it was 5-10 years ago).

Two of our three home OOC games against P5’s do intrigue me, though. We have Baylor and Wake Forest both coming to Rice Stadium, and depending on how quickly our young team gels, you might see an upset in one of those two.

I’m not holding my breath for opening week at West Point, though.

Yep not happening. Hard to replace 24 and 25 year olds NCAA exemptions.

Don’t be surprised if UAB loses to USA

Agree TN may be better.
UAB does not get many winnable games vs SEC.
I can think of 2 vs TN that were close.
One went to OT and we missed 5 total fg and lost.
This UAB team is better than that one.
Still one of the most winnable vs SEC for UAB.
We are getting more votes in AP 25. UAB 3 and UT 0
Long time before this one is played.
I’m just going with the topic.
