VCU has sold out like 130 consecutive home games... you can’t attendance smack them. Plus, they are year in and out in the discussion as one of the best non-power basketball programs.

Guys, did you know that UNLV has 4 Final Four Appearances and a National Championship in 1990? That's 3 more Final Four Appearances than VCU. Don't get me wrong ... "VCU appearances to be a fine institution, but I think that UNLV offers a little more from a basketball standpoint. Also, there is the possibility of adding the Vegas Bowl to the conference bowl season lineup." IJS ... 07-coffee3

Ummmm what???

UNLV hasn't made a tournament or won a conference regular season or tournament in how long?

Sorry to inform you UNLV and the MWC already lost the Vegas bowl, its B1G/SEC vs PAC now.

I'd trade them for you in a heartbeat.

RE: This is VCU's chance
VCU almost assuredly will not start football in a long time if ever.

The only even remotely viable stadium available is City Stadium, which is very old and in desperate need of upgrades, and it’s already under the management of the USL 1 soccer club there. It’s a loooooooong way from meeting even the most basic FBS standard, and there’s no plans to even plan to plan to PLAN to think about planning to start the process. VCU is a landlocked campus; there’s no way to drop even a 20,000-seat stadium in urban Richmond. And they’ve expressed no interest in adding the sport, owing to money and Title IX concerns (along with the already-established land issue).

I’d like to see it happen in my lifetime because football is fun, and I think some of my fellow VCU fans are almost paranoid in their fear and loathing of the sport writ large, but if you’re worried that you’ll invite VCU and they’ll backdoor a startup program through, rest easy. It’s not happening.
