This is VCU's chance
Start football immediately, join the AAC. Either the conference grows into the power structure or they could wind up in one or a successor league.

Heck no we don’t need any football start up’s, are you nuts? I’m fine with VCU hoops if there’s a football off set but if it’s VCU all sports, which includes start up football, no thx

There isn't an appetite for football there. WSU gaining FB is a more likely outcome.

The AAC needs an all sports peer. Those schools are in the MW.

I don't think we add anyone. The MW is broke but very stable in their footprint.

You somehow found a way to downgrade from UCONN football - I mean at least UCONN has a team.

Army football and VCU hoops would be OK. Feeling the league administrators and conference AD's may not see it that way. I trust the professionals with this.

Rather have Dayton than VCU, look at budget and attendance. This is not a test UC fans.

I didn't add any Rimshot. Could have been worse, I could have said George Mason.

I want VCU and Dayton plus the best all sports candidate. I originally had that as Marshall but could be sold on Colorado State and a few others.

I don’t think Army or Air Force are good choices. BYU won’t come and none of the other western schools make sense unless they have a true western division.

My guess is if we can't get BYU or Army, we stand pat at 11.

VCU has sold out like 130 consecutive home games... you can’t attendance smack them. Plus, they are year in and out in the discussion as one of the best non-power basketball programs.

Guys, did you know that UNLV has 4 Final Four Appearances and a National Championship in 1990? That's 3 more Final Four Appearances than VCU. Don't get me wrong ... "VCU appearances to be a fine institution, but I think that UNLV offers a little more from a basketball standpoint. Also, there is the possibility of adding the Vegas Bowl to the conference bowl season lineup." IJS ... 07-coffee3

UNLV is too far West without some more members out there but they look far more attractive now that they have a real stadium near the Strip.

WSU is in a better position to start their football program again and then just add VCU for basketball.

but then again do we really want yellow football uniforms? we got a perception to look after.

Attendance smack this;

Dayton averages 13k fans a game, they are the biggest time program out there. VCU averages 7,600. There is a huge difference in one of the biggest fundamentals of their programs IMO. They have a top 25 supported program.

Ummmm what???

UNLV hasn't made a tournament or won a conference regular season or tournament in how long?

Sorry to inform you UNLV and the MWC already lost the Vegas bowl, its B1G/SEC vs PAC now.

If we got a "football only" like Army or AF---I'd hope we'd replace the lost depth in basketball. VCU would be an excellent addition to AAC basketball.
