It’s not just limited to the students, many of the big shots with the prime parking spaces for tailgating stayed home too.

They really were, for a place 2/3 empty those that did show up were fully engaged.

I have no voice left. That was a ton of fun. Glad the weather held out.

I am now a self proclaimed weather expert.
Please folks, get some gear and do not let a chance of something give you an excuse for not showing next Saturday. The team deserves a big crowd and so does JMU. Go Dukes!

Amen to that. One of the most dominant defensive performances I've seen out of the Dukes.

And yes, I know UNI isn't very good on offense and was missing a starter or two. But still, when you get to this point, all teams are pretty good. Did UNI get into our territory of the field more than once all night?

Their last drive they crossed the 50 before they turned it over on downs. But that was it.

Yes, I watched on TV from my home 2,100 miles away. Not sure why that precludes me from commenting on the student attendance. This should be the easiest time in our history for the kids to get excited for a game like tonight. Great team, great stadium/fan experience, student body of 22k...pack the place out.

If you are castigating students for making the same choice you made, then (i) you are hypocritical, and (ii) part of the so-called problem rather than the solution. Instead of asserting that the stadium looked horrible because of the attendance, perhaps concede that you have no place to criticize, but offer an observation.

I really don't understand what is so controversial about what I said. In 4 years as a student, I missed zero football or basketball home games, so yes I'm comparing my mindset 15 years ago to what I'm seeing from the students today and was compelled to comment. I'm not expecting that level of consistent dedication from the broader group of students, but I hoped for more for a game and an era of football such as this one, that's all. To say that I, as a 35 year old alum living on the other side of the country, made the "same choice" to not attend the game as a student that was on campus just this week is plainly idiotic. Take note I never said a single word anywhere about even local fans/alumni being obligated to travel to the game from out of town in bad weather on a Friday after work. People have families, kids, other responsibilities. I get it.

I understand that I'm alone with this opinion and that's fair enough, so I'm moving along.

I should have subscribed to the Deez Nuts forecast all along. Would have saved my sons hours of anxiety as we drove up from Charlotte through 37 degree downpours.
