And I do think it's important to ask if Bohn made the right decision to let Cronin walk without an obvious upgrade to replace him. It will likely take years to answer that question, and I'm excited to see what Brannen can do with this team this program. But UCLA got our coach and we got NKU's and that says something.

The options were to either let Mick walk, or to sign him to a ridiculously long contract at a larger salary than many boosters and BoT members wanted to pay. In other words, there was no choice. And the article was intentionally misleading and painted UC's admin in a bad light in order to fulfill an agenda... in other words, it was a hatchet job.

From what was leaked prior to the UCLA announcement, Bohn was trying to get a deal done. Not sure exactly what motivated Mick to leave, but I'd rather have Brannen who wants to be here than Cronin who doesn't. And our last two hires also came from mid-major schools and worked out just fine.

He has charisma of Brian Kelly. Love it so far. Just get couple well known assistants

I know Mick. He was out when he threw Jennifer under bus about not being highly recruited. He quit on us. Told y'all who he was recruiting last summer. Straight BUMS! He Ak'ed us

Just had a chance to view the press conference.

If Brannen interviewed as well as he performed in the press conference, then I can understand how he got the job. Great control of what he wanted to say and how he said it.

Now if he can coach as well as he does press conferences, we are going to be very happy.

Also, all communication and journalism majors should re-watch Dan Hoard's opening. That is how to start a press conference. UC is really lucky to have Hoard around.

Yea, Brannen handled the media extremely well. He seems to be an excellent communicator. I noticed it when watching some coaching videos of him on YouTube.

Nice to see Jarron at press conference. He and his family have been asking about his NBA chances but no one has him in the first round this year...or next.

Hopefully, Jarron values another year of his education and becoming a Bearcat legend...and maybe improving draft stock.

I've been on my best behavior, actually.

I'm excited for something new to happen with the program. I'm 38, and I've been a fan since I was 8 or 9 years old, and UC has had only 2 coaches (plus AK) in that whole time. So this could be a cool era for UC hoops. Brannen wasn't a flashy hire, but he did great in the presser and hopefully he can keep the team together and maybe even add someone. Pumped to see what he can do.
