RE: Transfer Updates
As of right now, we have 7 players on the roster next year. Toews, Gadsden, Simms, Estime, Linssen, Dodd, Boggs. Not ideal, but the 4 returners from last year are a solid core of guards/wing. Need to strengthen the F/C positions with a couple of grad transfers and JUCOs. The Valpo grad transfer that Gary Miller posted about would be a HUGE addition.

A starting 5 of below would be a solid group IMO.

PG- Toews
SG- Gadsden
SF- Simms
PF- Linssen or Dodd
C- Grad Transfer

RE: Transfer Updates
It sucks that the Star News doesn't have a beat writer for UNCW yet. I feel like we are in the dark with some quotes from the players transferring and McGrath. Alex Riley did a great job with that.

An unknown grad transfer center? Sure, there are a LOT of those out there itching to go to a mid major team on a two year slide, punctuated by a last place finish in a pretty bad CAA.

I can’t remember right now one way or the other, but did McGrath bring Cylla in as a transfer or Keatts work that out prior to his departure? I thought he was McGrath’s?

He was a McGrath addition. Jackie Manuel had a prior relationship with him:

Quote:“Jean was coached by my uncle in middle school. In his last year of high school, he was coached by my high school coach,” Manuel said. “When I was at (UNC) Greensboro, I was recruiting Jean when he was coming out of high school. So I’ve been knowing him for a long time… When he decided to transfer from FAU, the relationship was already there.”

Fine guys. I didn’t want to have to do it, but I still have all of my eligibility remaining. I’ll enroll as a grad student and start at C. Problem solved.

That’s the most concerning part for me.

It is what it is. When you're a mid-major who is not having success in the moment (or even sometimes when you are), you're a minor league program for the P5's. Especially when there's a talented, veteran player who doesn't have to sit out a year.

At this point, how hot is CB's seat? I can't imagine a scenario where all this transferring looks good.

Cool as $900,000 in the bank. We don't have the cash to let him go even if we wanted to.
