In the link in my above post used an old number of 257,807. So you are north of a 1/2 million.

Or as a conference $2,062,456 for 8 credits so far. Would like to see Buffalo win Sunday!

This season it feels like the wall has finally been broken down when it comes to interest/attendance from the average Buffalo sports fan- who is unaffiliated with the University. They filled up Alumni Arena even when the students were on breaks. The local media (TV, radio and print) have been all over the Bulls story this season. Will it remain that way when the program(s) take a step back while attempting to reload? We shall see. Also on deck this spring, UB is opening a new $20M indoor field-house. It will put football amenities on par with the other cold weather FBS programs. They used to have to take a bus to Orchard park, 18 miles away to practice indoors. No more. They can practice indoors on campus in a beautiful facility.

I wish WMU would invest in the Basketball program. Honestly, I would rather us drop Hockey and fully invest in Basketball. We need new facilities bad!!!!

I agree, I don’t see WMU making much noise in MAC basketball for the foreseeable future. Time for a new AD.

up to date numbers. Each unit is expected to be worth 280K in 2019. The MAC will get SEVEN credits this year. 2013 (1), 2014 (1), 2015 (1), 2016 (1), 2017 (1), 2018 (2).

Next year, a min. of EIGHT.

2014 (1) 2015 (1), 2016 (1), 2017 (1), 2018 (2), 2019 (2 or more).

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/...caa-money/

I calculate the 2020 number at 2.3M. 8 units x 289K = 2.3M.

RE: Buffalo. Wow
Not sure of the amount this year or even if it has been announced, but a couple of years ago it was about $250K per year for six years, so about $1.5 mil. I'm not sure how the MAC divides that up.

Edit: Just found last year's units are worth $278K. That's for each game played. So the MAC always has a unit earned every year and now will have double units for UB's performance for last two tourneys. And still playing for a shot at more.

Easy to see why the Power-5 along with conferences like Big East and A10 are so protective of their multiple bids.

This article is well worth reading in depth including the section "It's big for the littles' where it goes into details as to conference revenue, basketball fund revenue, percentages, etc. etc. It is for all but two conferences.

Can sort the conferences based on different criterion, etc.

I'm guessing the MAC might do like some other non-power conference which get big $ from the NCAA. Some conferences keep the 6 units monies but distribute the 'extra unit' monies in some kind of incentive system.

Next year the MAC will receive at least EIGHT UNITS (maybe more if UB wins today).

I think all MAC fans of good will are rooting for UBuffalo vs. UofMichigan with, of course, UB winning.

That would be a show case for the MAC in the Sweet 16 round.

Nerves! can't wait for this game to start. I *think* the Bulls have the experience to get through this. On the flip side, I keep seeing stuff about how great Texas Tech is and their defense is nothing like we've ever seen. So here we are,, Let's get it going!

As soon as I saw the draw, I thought this was the worst 3 seed matchup they could get. But neither team has likely faced a team quite like the other. Should be good.

Embarrassing. I’m the first person to admit I didn’t give TT enough respect. They are way above anything UB has seen all year. Making us look silly.

Oof. Not surprised at a TT victory, but didn't expect it to be a blowout. It looked over from the tip-off (despite Buffalo coming back a bit when the score was in the 20s).

Did not see that coming...
TT is very good, but hard to believe they are 20 points better than the Bulls... Just an off day- shooting wise for UB.
Props on a great season, and repping the MAC... 04-bow04-bow
