I like our chances at home against anyone. Moreover, the players must be grinding their teeth after Troy snatched the victory from us literally at the last second lol

It could be an aberration, but I certainly hope that UT Arlington and Texas State can do our delegation proud against the Georgia teams! We didn't do that well against them at our place last time, but as you say, maybe UTA has decided to wake up.
I used to make fun of the Sun Belt (aka "Slumbelt"), as it seemed no better than the Southland in basketball and baseball, and was only on a par with Southland football. Now, of course, the Sun Belt is our conference, so I am trying to reorient my attitude. For one thing, it is nice to have all the familiar former SLC rivals on our schedule again - Arkansas State, ULL (formerly USL), ULM (formerly NLU), Texas State (formerly SWT) and Troy (formerly Troy), which was kind of in the SLC, if only for football. One thing I have noticed is the nice symmetry of the Sun Belt.
We have two Texas schools, two Arkansas schools, two Louisiana schools, two Georgia schools, two Alabama schools and two Carolina Schools. The lack of Kentucky or Florida schools does not seem to have weakened the conference whatsoever, and I certainly do not miss UNT (formerly NTSU).

He had a big game in the first meeting, well rounded game 14/5/4.

Louisiana, formerly USL, was never in the SLC. We were in the old Gulf States Conference, the Big West, Independent, and now Sun Belt. UL also has also never been 1AA or FCS. It declared 1A status when the split between 1A and 1AA occurred.

Come at me bro -> Simonds
After seeing him play a few times, Simonds is most definitely the guy who screams "Come at me bro" and other "tough" things....as he backs away and stands behind his teammates.

You're wrong. USL was definitely in the SLC from 1971 to 1981. I don't blame you for wanting to forget how poorly USL did, especially compared to LaTech. In eleven years, USL had three winning seasons. The year after USL left the Southland, the conference dropped down to 1-AA, now known as FCS. So you're right that USL was not in the FCS version of the Southland Conference.
