Mick Cronin Previewing the upcoming game against Wichita State.

He thinks really highly of Greg Marshall and his program. Though I doubt he thinks very little of his daughter and wife with the way they were acting during the game in Cincinnati last year.

We’re supposedly breaking out the 1980/90s style Memphis State uniforms which will be completely awesome

that tulsa ucf game is season changing for both....the loser is in a hole that will need a borderline dominant run to finish out the season to crawl out off, the winner becomes very well positioned to make a case for an invite

No one UC fan can ever feel good about road games.

And 3 stats that i haven't seen on any other metric that UC is really struggling with:
Momentum: 341st (because of their huge dip in defense since conference play)
Consistency: 303rd
Away from home: #267th

The last one is key. UC is already in a defensive funk and on the road, their issues are even more exaggerated defensively and they also struggle to hit shots on the road.

Hard to predict a victory from UC against WSU. But then again, I won't pick UC to win many road games this year.

I hope penny wears the Memphis state jerseys against UC

It will be an ode to the time we beat them 4 times in the same season

RE: 1/19 (Saturday) AAC Basketball Games
hey justin

here is an interview of Sampson previewing USF from this morning but that not important..ignore the interview

we just had a conversation the other day about "why does alley think he can shoot" and i told you that he makes them in practice and he used to make them in high school..they just aren't going down in live games

if you ignore the interview behind Sampson is alley shooting 3s, in that video you see him he shoot about 50-60 3s, he only miss about 5 or 6, hits the rest (the other guys shooting who is also barely missing is the transfer PF we have sitting out, justin gorham)

I dunno about you, but unguarded, I can nail a bunch of 3’s in warmups at the rec center, especially if someone rebounds for me and I get in a rhythm.

But it’s an entirely different thing in a game. When you have less time to set your feet.

Some guys only end up practice shooters.

And Alley is approaching the point that a shot from him is just a shot that Davis, Robinson 9; brooks should have took instead

Though I do get the idea of wanting Alley to be a shooter.

Right now Houston Is feast or famine from 3. They start 2 of the best shoooters in the country, and then also have 3 guys with 10 or more attempts at 24% or Worse.

If alley makes em, it creates more space.

But it’s not like Alley has only taken 20 or 30 3’s.

He’s taken 70 3’s so far, which is 8 more than Justin jenifer has attempted.

Galen Robinson is hugely improved. He needs to shoot more and Alley a lot less.

But you can tell that Galen is only comfortable shooting 1 or 2 3’s a game because he passes up wide open looks all the time

Big 5 game always worries me. Penn did defeat 'Nova early on. Penn also has the incentive of still getting a share of the Big 5 title, partially ending 'Nova's streak of outright titles. Fortunately they're struggling lately so Temple should win.

Alley is good at taking the ball inside, finishing and getting fouled. The coaches ought to encourage that balance with him.

Jarrey Foster out vs Memphis with knee injury.

How much longer he’ll be out.... Jank can’t or won't say.

Just remember that Shake was always “day to day” last year and never came back.

I love the Big 5 and what it represents. Has it always been a complete round-robin, or are there some gaps? Gotta love the travel expenses for the OOC games.
