Not a lot. Really just at the start of switching to the 2-3 zone.

Because it obviously doesn’t work.
Hey, what are you supposed to do when a team gets hot from outside? You CAN'T play zone, right?
I have no issue mixing it up, and we should, playing zone the other night wouldn’t have worked(after Horton got hot)and if you think it would have I suggest you read up on the game of basketball. Did one guys have 6 of those threes in the first half? Completely different game today
Good win today huge way to bounce back and get a W.
I didn’t get to see most of it as I was coaching my game.
Just admit you're wrong already. WE defend the three better in zone than man. ESPECIALLY against Delaware it would have worked since they use the kickout from the drive. Geez.

I’m not wrong, it was a completely different game and team. Switching d is good, it was a good change up tonight and it will be most nights. But Drive and kick is what beats a freaking zone. Penetrate and dish F sakes you are thick

Gadsden became your first player with at least 20 points or 6 or fewer field goal attempts since Bryce also had 20 points and 6 field goal attempts in a 97-94 win hosting William & Mary on January 16, 2016. In both games you were at home and scored 97. IMO Gadsden was the best player. Cacok shot well including making 10 of 13 free throws, and James Butler scored 17 while making 7 of 9 field goals and had 10 rebounds.

They were hitting all those threes BECAUSE our defense scheme gave them wide open looks. All the teams were scouting it and firing up the threes!

When what you want to do doesn't work, don't do it! When what you didn't want to do does work, keep doing it.

I still disagree that the Box and 1 is the only way to go. The one defender on Horton in the Delaware game would have still been succeptible to a pick and easily freed up Horton for a shot and when help came would have left another wide open shooter. A straight 2-3 or 3-2 zone eliminates the offenses ability to pick defenders.

Fellas, agree to disagree and enjoy the win.
Did y’all see Manuel getting on Cylla at the end? I guess the coaches didn’t want him to take the last shot.

On camera all I could see what Cylla with both his palms up kind of asking what he did wrong. I'd imagine it had to do with what the announcers said, the shot clock was winding down and was going to expire prior to the game clock. How bad did Manuel get on him for it?

I'm not sure why, there was a 3 second difference between the shot clock and game clock. I honestly thought he just threw it up at the end of the shot clock and was surprised when it went in.

I thought the same. Watching it, it didn't even look like he was actually trying to make the shot, but just got lucky.

I didn’t see anything wrong either. Assuming the coaches wanted to take the violation though. Couldn’t tell what JM said, but he wasn’t happy.

Serious question do you think teams don’t set picks against zones? That’s one of the ways to get guys open with screens at the top or down screens. The box and 1 worked the other night for the 4 minutes he played it with Gadsen, we cut the lead to single digits. Then Gadsen came out, and the lead ballooned
Definitely enjoying the win as it appears coach learned how to mix it up

To stoke the fire...when both teams switched to zones (at different times in the game) the opposite team resulted in what was much worse shooting.

Our M2M is terrible, that's the biggest part of the problem. They have to recognize shooters and not double off them. The same principle applies in a zone, you have to know where the shooter/s are at all time and even cheat that direction some.
