I think you're overly generous.

I don't think UCF is the best team in Florida much less deserving of a top 10 ranking and even less deserving of a playoff shot.

That said, I wish they were because it would be a nice easy win for the first round of the playoff.

The gap is just too wide and UCF isn't on the right side of it.

When you compare UCF to the other contenders there just isn't a good argument for them.
UCF could go undefeated in the BIG, OSU would not go undefeated in the AAC.
Hahahahaha!

That statement shows you don’t watch football at all.

UCF gave up over 400 yards per game on defense playing an AAC schedule. They'd get dismantled even in the offensively challenged Big 10.

If Northwestern can go 0-3 OOC and 8-1 in B1G play, then of course UCF could potentially go 9-0 in the B1G, but it would depend on the schedule.

Ohio State could also go 8-0 in the AAC pretty easily though.

On the road OSU's back end defense would struggle against multiple AAC teams, just like they did at Purdue.

Northwestern was a FG from 9-0 in the B1G and 16-0 dating to last October. Of course UCF could go 9-0 in the B1G.

I could totally see the committee keeping Georgia above Oklahoma but the fly in the ointment is maneuvering around an Alabama-Georgia rerun.

The 2 best teams are Alabama and UGA. After that hard to determine. UCF beat Pitt just like Clemson did, same score.

So difficult that one of its divisions was won by a team that lost all of its non-conference games, which were all played at home, including a loss to an Akron team that was 2-6 in MAC games and a loss to a Duke team that was 3-5 in ACC games.

Sure, if the committee loves Ohio State enough to throw out a few BS reasons why they should jump Oklahoma, they'll do whatever they want, the committee's track record proves that they're just making it up week to week anyway.

LOL

At home.

And not in a pouring rainstorm.

And it wasn't the same score.

Oh, maybe because Stanford was down, USC stunk, Navy stunk, Michigan turned out just to have a soft schedule themselves, and because they played and nearly lost to Vanderbilt at home, and also had two more annual bottom feeders to play in Wake Forest, and Duke.

So with 5 games against the weakest possible conference the ACC since they didn't play Clemson and had 31 year worst F.S.U., and picked up two from the 2nd worse conference, played annual stragglers in Wake, Duke, and Vandy, I can certainly see why someone would call it soft. Oh, and Va Tech didn't exactly have a stellar year and Cuse fizzled a bit at the end.

Maybe that's why some people trash N.D.'s schedule with a straight face.

But do I blame N.D.? NO! The schedule was made before the normally strong teams all took a nosedive at once and nobody could have foreseen that.
