Exclamation 2018 MAC Football Pick 'Em -- Week 1
With MAC football only one week away, it's time to kickoff the 2018 MAC Pick 'Em Tournament. Rules will be similar to last year with a few additions.

  1. Each week, I (or another) will start a thread listing the week's match-ups a minimum of 72 hours prior to the kickoff of the first week's game.
  2. With the exception of Week 1, a list of all participants will be included in the thread with a cumulative, season long point total as well as the points earned from the previous week's matchups.
  3. Picks are made straight-up (just choose who you think will win).
  4. Picks will be accepted up to one hour prior to kickoff of the week's first game*
  5. You may edit your picks so long as you do so at least one hour prior to the week's first game*
  6. If a participant misses a week, he/she is not disqualified from the season long contest, but cannot earn points for the week missed.
  7. Correct MAC vs Out-of-Conference picks will be worth 1 point; MAC vs MAC picks will be worth 2 points.
  8. Tournament concludes at the end of the regular season. If two (or more) participants tie with the highest score at the end of the season, the tie will be broken by picking the winner and the margin of victory in the MAC Championship game
  9. New for 2018: Weekly winners will be awarded 1-rep point; However, if more than 3 people tie for first in the weekly picks, no rep points will be awarded.
  10. New for 2018: The Game of the Week (GOTW) will be determined in advance and will be worth double the standard points (2 for OOC, 4 for MAC play); GOTW will be decided by the closest Vegas lines.

* Due to the unique nature of the MAC, I decided mid-season last year to allow people to break up their picks when it comes down to the October and November Mid-Week MACtion games. For instance, you may submit your picks for the week-day games (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) 1 hour prior to the first mid-week kickoff, and a separate post submitting your picks 1 hour prior to the first of the weekend games (Friday/Saturday). This only applies for mid-week MACTION. I hope this makes sense.

Lastly, please let me know if you would like any clarifications of the rules. Better to get them hammered out in Week 1 than mid-season.

I'm sure you know, but don't get paranoid if no one posts picks right away. Personally, I will probably wait until next Wednesday in case of injuries or anything.

Martin needs to start showing he's built a contender

Huskies can compete

Central Michigan over Kentucky
I'm not impressed with the Wildcats and the Chippewas are known for getting the upsets

Buffalo over Delaware St
Toledo over VMI
Oregon over Bowling Green St

Nebraska over Akron
If last year wasn't a fluke for the Zips, they have a chance.

I'll be at the WMU game, and will watch on TV the Akron and CMU games.
