That's pretty cut and dry. Now let's see the evidence. People that do these kind of things usually have a CYA. If gates can provide something to back up his testimony then Manafort is up the creek without a paddle.

If Gates is the lynch-pin of the case, then a jury could easily have reasonable doubt. He made a deal to save his skin to avoid prison, he's admitted to being a criminal, an embezzler, and to lying under oath...why should anyone believe a thing he has to say? The defense will shred him in closing.

And so far, the evidence is a lot weaker than I expected. I thought they had him nailed for money laundering. They've got to do a lot better than testimony from an embezzeler.
