In the defense of the Libs here, usually when there's an issue it's taken past presidents weeks, months, even terms to straighten it out. Having it resolved in an hour is a hard concept.

We shouldn't be drinking coke anyway. I can't remember the last time I bought any kind of soda anyway so this doesn't affect(effect??) me at all.

It was only brought up because Trump. Interesting that when a locality raises taxes on soft drinks it's a good thing to get folks to cut back, but if a tariff does the EXACT SAME THING, it's bad, bad, bad, because Trump. Typical TDS.

That might just be the most ridiculous straw man ever assembled here. 03-rotfl

I believe (could be wrong) the tariffs are being used as leverage only. How about you give me some examples of how to get more favorable trade deals without the tariffs?

That seemed to be obvious to me from the moment he announced tariffs.

I fully understand that tariffs we implement result in us paying higher prices. I get that. I accept that.

And I also know they decrease the imports and businesses in other countries suffer.

That's why I'm ok with sucking it up now in the short term... because I expect a win.

It's kind of like the whole illegal alien labor.

I'm not so self-absorbed and selfishly focused that I want to exploit people with cheap labor so I can enjoy low prices.

If that's good for blue-collar labor, why not use illegal labor for white-collar work as well?

As a consumer, I like low prices. But as an employee I like high wages.

I'm willing to pay higher prices due to higher wages because, for one, that means we would no longer be exploiting people for their labor to serve us as a sub-class of human.
