RE: Tariffs Are The Greatest!
If the article estimates future tax savings why not show it on the chart? I guess it wouldn't be nearly as dramatic to show the "cost" of he tariffs at roughly one third or half of the tax savings over the course of the year.

The price of our steel goes up a little bit.

The price of their food goes up a lot.

Guess who wins.

Quote:Whirlpool Corp on Monday trimmed its full-year profit outlook as it booked a large charge on its European operations and said it wouldn’t be able to offset the effect of steel tariffs with higher prices for consumers.

The company said Monday it now expects to pay about $350 million more this year from rising raw-material costs as it faces “a very challenging cost environment.”

One of the absolute dumbest notions is that we can't negotiate trade deals without first shooting ourselves with idiotic tariffs.

Failed to mention that $114mm antitrust settlement in France that is mentioned later in the article.

Let me save you some time before you start posting story after story. Yes companies are taking it on the chin right now. No, this isn't a permanent thing. US companies will be better off once the tariffs are negotiated down and the US receives fair treatment on trade deals.

Tom, can you post a spreadsheet detailing the exact tariffs the USA charges to ABC countries and what those countries charge USA exports. It will save all us a lot of time.

Whirlpool sucks. They need to put any profit they make back into improving quality anyway.

Trump Tariffs Put Carmakers’ Tax Windfall at Risk

So whats your point? Where are the charts that reflect the amount of lost profits due to foreign trade barriers over the last 2 decades? This isnt a question of whether tariffs are good or bad. Its universally agreed they are a negative. The Trump tariffs are simply a means to the goal of getting rid of the trade barrier headwinds most all US products face in the export market. You have to be willingly ignoring the obvious to post this type of silliness. Hell---its already happening. News is breaking om that topic right now.

We have warned libturds to wait a few hours before posting their drivel, so as to:

1. Ensure they arent posting fake news and /or

2. Wait to ensure Trump doesnt do something amazing in that short amount of time that counteracts their post
