We have never had a President embarrass NATO the way a Trump did today. You iron out differences behind closed doors. He’s actively trying to curry favor with Putin.
When did a speculative opinion piece become the gospel truth?
When your religion is far left politics.

Trump simply see things from a business perspective and asks simple questions that haven't been asked before. Common sense questions regarding issues that don't make any sense.
we've needed this approach since Reagan left office.

It's obvious that decades of "behind closed doors" hasn't worked.
Time to try public shaming.
As for Putin, I fail to see how chastising the Germans for sending billions to Russia for energy and suggesting they shouldn't would "curry favor" with Pooty-poot.....
What hasn’t worked? NATO has withstood the rise in communism and its subsequent fall. Its been a remarkably successful partnership... which is why Vladimir Putin wants to weaken it.

Totally agree.

Honestly, I don't think most people are informed enough to know or smart enough to connect the dots.
I'll simplify it.
The Germans and the EU vs the Obama administration and his band on idiots for 8 years. Any guesses on who got fricked?
Which is why America was so loved by our European allies.

Look at the spending... NATO hasn't withstood communism, the US has along with minimal help from those that reside on communism's doorstep.
You worry about Putin weakening NATO. What better way than to create an energy dependence for NATO members? Putin decides to become hostile or snatch another region like he did with Crimea and at the same time he cuts off the flow of oil to members of NATO. Lok past the 2 inches in front of your nose

“It’s very sad when Germany makes a massive oil and gas deal with Russia where we’re supposed to be guarding against Russia and Germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to Russia,” Trump said before meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday morning.
Trump pressed on: “If you look at it, Germany is a captive of Russia, because they supply --- they got rid of their coal plants, got rid of their nuclear, they’re getting so much of the oil and gas from Russia. I think it’s something NATO has to look at.”
The broadside came at the opening of a two-day summit..........
https://www.bloombergquint.com/politics/...u-s-allies
So speaking the truth is now called a broadside. Okay.
When it's 10 below in December in Berlin and Russia threatens to cut off the gas supply unless Germany does x, y, or z, who wins?
And WE’RE spending billions and billions a year to DEFEND Germany against Russia.
This is insanity. Glad someone’s finally calling it out for what it is...

Trump is great for trashing our allies and seeking to do Putin's bidding in undermining them because it will help him in negotiations in Europe.
Trump is also great for lavishly praising Putin and KJU because it will help him in negotiations.
There is nothing this board isn't willing to slobber all over Trump's **** for.

They really have compromised their security by too much reliance on Russian gas.
Yea, and they’re simultaneously trying to insist WE use our taxpayers money to pay for and provide that security.
Long past due.

They undermined themselves when they became dependent on Russian gas and oil. Not only are they enriching the Russians while screwing over the United States both in trade and in defense expenditures, they are totally at the mercy of the Russians if the Russians decide to turn off the pipeline. NATO isn't going to be able to provide them with fuel and gas if Russia gets pissed and cuts off the supply.
