What is the capacity for basketball? Looks like about 10,000.

Maybe this got Bryant an America East invite.

https://news.bryant.edu/bryant-universit...mier-venue

Their current facility is clearly a gym, with cinder block walls, and collapsing bleachers that can be pushed back to clear space for additional basketball courts.

Renovations to Lindsey Nelson Stadium are the focal point of the proposed budget with $56.8 million aimed toward the baseball stadium. The project description indicates the funds would aid in "construction of additional amenities including a new indoor infield facility along with expanded site improvements," while enhancing existing spaces and services.

Twelve of Tennessee's 14 programs are addressed within the budget proposal, as athletics director Danny White has plans across the department.

The budget also includes $28.3 million toward adding a premium club with amenities and upgrading food service and support spaces at Thompson-Boling Arena.

RE: Stadium Renovation and Construction Thread
Marshall's new AD has hinted at a renovation of Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

This would include the demolition of the South Endzone Addition (green colored section in the picture below). The renovation would include a new Party Deck style area with open seating and possibly the addition of restaurant style concession as well as additional suites.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. A huge party deck would create a nice environment for the younger fans.

Party deck and restaurant style seating right there would be a smart move. Decent view of the game, and a nice view in the other direction as well (so long as the view stays open).

Yes, this would reduce capacity from 38,000 to around 30,000-32,000 which would make the stadium look better on TV as well. The original endzone section would stay(The concrete section right above the 'Thundering Herd' logo. The green endzone seats were added later on and were done very cheaply. I think it would add so much to the gameday experience.

(Caveat: Lived in Hurricane, WV, for eight+ years and Morgantown for seven more... Been to many Marshall games at "The Joan" including a couple of UC games there...)

Agreed. I have never liked how the South Endzone addition looked in the stadium. I think the proposed changes would be much better.

Ohio did the party deck in the endzone thing a few years back. Opened the stadium up and added to the experience.
