I wonder how many season tickets will be bought in the first seating? Sadly I'm sure Covid had a material effect on initial season ticket sales.

You may not be Karnac the Magnificent. You may not be a certified Sooth Sayer. You may not even be as esteemed as Jack Kennedy or Captain Kangaroo. But, you now have status. Street cred as they say. Linesmakers are considering your skills.

Oh, great Seeker Into The Future Dude, what are your odds that there will be...

1. Full MBB schedule
2. Conference-only with no games until after NYD
3. No MBB

I will now hang up and act like I'm listening.

04-cheers

Drove by today. Landscaping is going in and looks good.

There is a small sign that says atlantic bank center at the main entrance. I think much more signage will come. Do the drawings include a tower sign in the front?

what I assume will carry a very large LED display is already up on the Costco side of the building. It's easily 25 feet tall. Sort of visible on the OxBlue webcam just off to the right of the building. I believe the same or similar is going in near the main plaza entrance and should start to get formed up this week.

If fans are not allowed at games, would you prefer to play the games at the Convo? I would.....

That would be kinda sad if the first games in the new arena had no fans. Don't the fans have to be part of the grand opening?

I get your point but the players are going to want to play in the new arena. Don’t forget that is where their locker rooms, practice courts, study hall and social area are located. I don’t see them wanting to play at the Convo once they gain access to the new arena.

Usually one of the greatest days for a new facility is the opening night. Opening without fans would be a little depressing to me. That said, I know that is likely how things will start for the new Arena.

Just another thing.....

Posted this in another thread, but The Athletic thinks we could host a non-conference basketball bubble for MBB and WBB.

For those that ordered season tickets - did you get a link to the site you’ll pick your seats from? They included the seats3d link but not sure where you go when it’s time to select your seats.

I think they send the link out a couple of days before your time. AT least that is what I seem to recall from previous football reseatings.

Yeah, it's very frustrating that it's happened like this. My answer was flippant, but this is the outcome of how the pandemic has unfolded.

With regards to the start of D1 College Hoops...

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanHoops

NCAA: "By mid-September, we will provide direction about whether the season and practice start on time or a short-term delay is necessitated by the ongoing pandemic."

This is code for... "by mid-September, we will decide nothing and kick the can down the road for a few more weeks until we get ready to kick the can down the road for a few more weeks then"

Once we have have an announced effective vaccine that is safe, there will start a new phase for sports. I believe college athletics will go into a 6 month precautionary mode until the vaccine has time to get through the population. Why rush back in a non-safe manner, when things will be so much safer in six months?

Just saying, in the short term I think a vaccine will potentially slow things in the short term as far as college athletics.

On the flip side if there is no vaccine, universities will continue to work on ways to power through in a more aggressive manner
