I think they put them in about 20 years ago??? Two tennis courts and a basketball court.

About the time the frat housing went in.

Seems the fraternity housing has been in longer than that. I seem to recall walking through it first time I was taking classes, early-90s.

But anyhow, to the topic: nice logo and entrance. Have to make a point to see what it looks like from ground level. Part of me through cries "wasted space." Dump the rotary to nowhere. Plow that road straight into my private parking spot at the GB. With a landscaped median and cherry tree lined on both sides. That would be dramatic and functional.

Seems like there should be some type of aesthetic sculpture or fountain there beyond the UT shield.

Yeah, I never understood the pile of rocks that used to sit there. Always thought it needed the rocket logo, but this will do.

Not bad at all.....
The whole campus is way more aesthetically pleasing now compared to when I was there in The Stone Ages. I didn't know those tennis courts were there either.

GO ROCKETS

What do I have to do to gain HOF Status on board? How long does one stay a "Bench Warmer?"

GO ROCKETS

Once they finish all of the work on Bancroft/University Hills Blvd intersection, they're going to have two very nice entrances to campus...especially if the rumors are true that Driscoll will be turning into a Welcome Center/Admissions Office.

Spend way too much time on here arguing whether our third string TE should move to DE to help our depth problem there.

It's all based on post counts I believe.

Thanks. I'll tell you what else I think UT should do to make the campus more pleasing. Remove all those dumb advertising billboards from inside The Glass Bowl. Looks like a Double A Baseball Field. I find it hard to believe that those billboards bring in that much revenue. And I agree the UTMC Signage should go too.

Also likely temporary, well at least 5 -10 years temporary, as if UTPD moves to new station at Dorr/Secor and funds secured to move baseball/softball and soccer from Scott Park to main campus that entire site will be redeveloped as per current master plan.

The rocks were supposed to be some type of sculpture. Just need the grass to grow in now. The courts were put in quite a while after the Greek housing was built.

You forgot mentioning UT's owning BGSUCKS gets bonus points.

Yeah, I believe they were put in with the Varsity Pavilion (that large gazebo) in the early 00's.

As long as that functioning rail line is there another roadway is unlikely. When the baseball/softball facility gets developed this will serve more of a purpose

Master Plan shows the Door Street entrance road extending straight through to GB. I believe that rail line is scheduled for decommissioning as it does not appear on the 10 yr master plan.
