Well first and foremost, NC A&T and ODU are the obvious ones...
then you hope UNC or VT are caught off guard... probably UNC of the two.
So 3-1 absolute best case scenario..
After that you have to actively root for the scenario where several teams are behind schedule in their own rebuilds. Cincinnati, UConn, Tulane, Temple. I just don't see Memphis, Houston, or UCF losing to ECU. Maybe USF if they don't manage to find a QB and the Strong factor just doesn't work.

This.
Couple that with the weak Pirate Club package I got yesterday and I can honestly say I'm not excited in the least. If it weren't for the friends and tailgating I doubt I'd be making the effort this year.

Nice find.
ECU already talking about AAC distribution.
I am looking forward to the CFP revenue distribution numbers. They came out about 51 weeks ago for the 16-17 season, so any day now...It will be very interesting to compare to last year's (accounting for the NY6 Bowl $4M shifting from MAC to us)
Article also pointed to "other bowl money" and specifically mentioned Liberty. On the one hand, yeah, the difference between the Liberty Bowl and the Bahamas Bowl once you divide it up is just six figures per school, and thus single-digit-percent of athletic budgets. But on the other hand, it hits a pet peeve of mine: AAC TV$ + CFP $ + Bowl $ > New Big East TV $
(oh by the way, Aresco haters need to take these bowl horse trades into account...)

Great post.
I would also remind people that the numbers often given for it conferences are totals including the tv, cfp, bowls, and basketball money which is then only matched against the AAC tv money.
Any word on what our entire pay out will be this year?

Compher and Mo did an unprecedented amount of damage to the program in such a short amount of time. I honestly didn't think it was possible. Sure, I could have seen us going to some 5-7 years. Maybe even 4-8 at worst in a rebuilding season. But Mo is an awful HC. Just as Compher was an awful AD.
3-9. Tops. New coach comes in next year and takes us 6-6.
I am a die hard ECU fan, follow all three major sports. Follow recruiting in all three, etc. But to be honest my level of excitement for football has been declining since we got our teeth kicked in against Marshall in 13' and didn't get to the CUSA Championship. We went on to win a meaningless bowl game against Ohio and in a year where we had a double digit win total for the first time since the Peach Bowl year and we couldn't even win freaking CUSA.
A lot of ECU fans get off on beating the ACC schools and don't really care about much else but I would much rather win whatever league we are in than win some game that doesn't really matter.
That being said, Mo & Compher brought my apathy to a whole new level.

I voted for A&T, ODU, and UConn...not knowing if any of those games are really a 'lock'. I started watching ECU in 2004, the John Thompson years, and even as bad as they were I still looked forward to every game. With Montgomery (I refuse to use the cutesy 'Mo', because...well...he sucks, that's why), I just want it to be over already. I would love to see success this fall, but I have a feeling we're headed for another 3-9 year. I think this could be the worst ECU coaching hire in history, and keep in mind that we hired Ricky Stokes!
5-7 is what I came out to. Unfortunately that would seem like improvement to the AD, and would be assuming no seniors are starting, however, I want Montgomery gone.
As much as I like App football, I believe Satterfield is out the door at some point, and if that happens I would love for it to be ECU. Best Transition from FCS to FBS in history (better than Boise St. and Marshall in the same time frame since jump).

Of course some ECU fans care about beating ACC schools more. Give me a win over any ACC school—historic geographic rivals—than any AAC school. I mean, if forced to pick which ones are wins. I’d ideally prefer to see ECU win them all.
A lot of the AAC fan bases are apathetic - UC, USF and UConn cause they were in what is/was considered the big time, played some huge games, won some huge games, played in front of big crowds in BE3. Others are because once they got in the Big East finally it imploded. Others cause they thought they were on the cusp of getting in the Big 12 to no avail. Hiring a great coach and winning will cure all ills; seems to have done the job at Memphis for the time being.

I'm not convinced you're beating UConn - and I picked you to win that game.
Fritz, Edsall, and Fickell all can outcoach Monty - and all three now are getting the players (good 3* guys) that can run their system.
You NEED to beat A&T and ODU... ...or this thing starts going off the rails.
I think ECU should have bit the bullet and ended the Scotty Mo era ASAP. I am not sold on him as a coach.
