Don't ask me why I torture myself but I was looking on Yahoo the other day and there was a story about how the singer Jewel recently brought up how she was still angry at MTV host Kurt Loder for correcting her on air in 1998 for misusing a word in a poetry book she had written. Of course the article was written to show this is an example of the patriarchy holding women back... my thoughts were:
1) I am guessing Jewel has a significantly larger bank account than Kurt Loder
2) Him correcting her on air did nothing to "hold back" her career.
3) Who cares?
4) Seriously, you remember a comment this guy made in an MTV interview from 24 years ago?
Then again, my wife brings up stuff I said 20 years ago as well.

I'm closing in on 50 years of marriage to one woman. She still throws stuff at me I allegedly said or did when dating her. It's in their DNA. It never changes. I have a long, very long memory. My wife's memory almost matches mine for names, faces, places, and conversations. She can even remember things that never happened, and if I sweetly correct her, then she must be right because I'm being defensive. So my advice is let it roll off her tongue and off your back. You know the truth and a woman can imagine a motive for something she perceived as a slight though one never occurred. Wisdom is in smiling, telling her you love her and "if" that ever happened you are sorry. Then change the subject to the kids and you're off the hook every time. Wisdom is knowing when to fight, and when not to. If you rob her of the manipulation of shaming you, you have won. And that's as good as it gets with a woman!
I cannot stand NBA basketball, but I love college - the NCAA tournament is one of my 4 favorite sporting events to watch. One thing that annoys the piss out of me is when these announcers continually say "The Basketball". He is a great shooter of The Basketball, he is a great passer of The Basketball. They all do it now ad nauseum .... it comes off as the announcer trying to sound more important or smarter. JFC they are playing basketball, what other f-ing ball would it be?
The new compliment in golf now is player X is a "Great Ball Striker". Holy Fuk, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that on the golf Channel during Masters week, 10 of us here would be able to retire. These are the best 100 golfers on the planet - they are ALL great f-ing ball strikers.

It would help tremendously if these young bastardos who say these things in an effort to appear smart had ever played the game, any kind of game they call. They misuse idioms which are as old as the games, and then reveal their ignorance when subject and verbs are not in sync and when they use inappropriate words which only sound like the word they intended. It's right out of Stink's Idiocracy. Hell, it makes me want to go to Starbucks to see if I can get the full "Latte".

Announcing crews love to copy lingo that is popular. I think Dick Vitale was the one who started saying “the basketball.”
White liberals complain the GOP doesn't run black candidates, but then when the GOP does run black candidates, they complain black candidates are white supremacists.

All those lies they fed us to lock the country down & keep us locked down.
Those ‘when it’s safe to open phase charts’ they’d present, then everytime our #’s would get good, they’d revise the charts to keep us locked down, or say our numbers were still bad & we still couldn't re-open.
Their fake compassion for us.
I pray Republicans never forget what lengths they did to shut us down & install Fauci & Birx as presidents in 2020.
The whole thing a redmark on the country.
The "it doesn't spread as bad outside as it does inside" lies.
The "race riots are okay but the Trump rallies are super-spreaders"
"Florida & Georgia are gonna kill so many people when they recklessly re-open"
Someone add some more.
It was never more than the common flu. Rush was right.
