I said it in the other thread, but the perception is we haven't beaten anyone, and some other posters argued that a bunch of top 100 wins is more important.

The bottomline, is most people are going to judge you against what you do against the best. The only 2 teams we have played that are top 25/elitish we didn't look well in. Its not all our fault, as the AAC doesn't allow for a ton of these games but it is what it is. These next 3 weeks we will play Houston x2, Wichita, @SMU, and @ UConn. This stretch will be very telling where we stand.

Pretty much.
If we win out the conference slate(I think we can), it'll be pretty hard to keep us from a decent seed, assuming we don't crap the bed in the conference tournament.

UC is currently ranked higher than 339 Division 1 basketball programs right now.

I don't think who we have beaten is holding us back much.

I agree with him. This sportswriter has been a joke all season. Especially as it relates to Cincy.

Relax UC is 8 in both polls, 6 in Kenpom, ESPN BPI, and 19 in RPI. What I care most about is our seed and not being shipped out West.

Absolutely. Top 10 is outstanding. Stay on pace for a 3 seed.

As of today...Kenpom rankings:
1. Villanova 2. Virginia 3. Purdue
SIGNIFICANT GAP
4. Duke 5. Michigan State 6. Cincinnati
SIGNIFICANT GAP
7. Gonzaga 8. Kansas 9. Auburn 10 Tennessee 11. Texas Tech 12. Xavier
Gap between 6. Cinci and 7. Zags roughly equal to gap between 7. Zags & 17. Clemson

I am intrigued by the possibility UC could run the table and end up a #1 or #2 seed.

Combine another Wichita State loss with the 2-3 games they would lose to us, and we could easily reach the Sweet 16 without a win against a team that ended the season in the top 25.

I would love to see the analysts heads explode as they comment on this. Not to mention with an upset or two and we could reach the Final Four without such a win.

I have nightmares of us getting a #1 seed in the same bracket as a #8 Kentucky. Kentucky has the type of team this year that can play lights out on one night (I can't believe they beat WVa @ home) and the next night you would wonder why they were included in the tournament. It would be our luck to get them on the lights out night.

That’s the thing. If Cincy stays undefeated up to their @wsu game...they would likely benefit in every way by losing it...except a drop in the Final AP poll.

This would only be possible if they sent Kentucky to the opposite side of the continent like they do with us for our first weekend every year.

sure, UK has the talent...but their record is their record for a reason. As far as beating WVA at WVA...eh. WVA has lost what, five in a row or some such. The B12 isn't as good as many thought earlier in the year. Not saying its not a quality win, but its not like they went in and beat Virginia or Nova or anything.

I say this, you want to knock UK out of the NCAA...this is the year to do it. We have our best team in forever and UK really just isn't that good. Are they capable of beating us? Sure. But I'd take that game in a heartbeat. We beat UK this year 8 out of 10 times. They just aren't that good at all and Coach Cal looks lost on the sideline most of the time.

Yea, after WVU's game last night I admit I may have over-rated them.
