Oklahoma has lost 3 of 4 and drops 3 whole spots. WVU has lost 4 of 5 and blows double digit leads to 2 unranked teams this week and only drops to #15. Its good to be in certain conferences.

I do agree the Big 12 was exposed a little this past weekend in the B12/SEC Challenge. It may take another week for the polls to reflect that.

I see Houston is getting eight votes; plug them into a P5 and they'd probably be ranked. Of course if UC takes care of business against the Cougars on Wednesday night those eight votes will probably disappear.

It just won't happen. That's pure exaggeration.

Part of that is quality of conference opponent. You don't think UC would have dropped double digits had they lost at Memphis Saturday night? Hell yes they would have. Would have deserved to, as well.

That's pure hypothetical. We're not losing to Memphis this year. When we do lose, we'll lose to a quality opponent - hopefully on the road - like Houston or SMU. We'll drop more than we should, but probably only 4 or 5 spots. A loss at UConn could get interesting, but UConn still has a name and a handful of voters don't pay close enough attention to know that UConn blows chunks.

For comparison, Wichita lost @houston and vs. SMU in the same week and dropped 10 spots.

Sure we could. You get a set of ****** refs like that on the wrong night on the road and it can get ugly ASAP. UC could lose to half of this conference under those circumstances.

And Wichita likely has more gravitas with voters than UC does. Most of the voters probably look at boxscores only.

Pretty cool that we are an ALMOST unanimous Top 10 team . Still need to convince Mr Couch

National perception.....not what it used to be. All about league you play in, anybody thinking we were gonna jump Duke or Kansas were fooling themselves.

It's a good comparison. Given the strength of those two teams, they shouldn't have dropped 10 spots. Probably only 7 or so spots was merited. But one loss won't do it.

ESPN's Power Rankings. I don't have an issue with where this guy ranks UC but his narrative about the Bearcats is most often a great example of working had to find some negative in a feel good story. He just can't bring himself to compliment UC--other than a left handed compliment such as this.

You are being overly-sensitive. UVA's defense is outstanding, as is UC's. And UVA has played a superior schedule compared to UC.

I do to the extent that he uses the little column space dedicated to UC to shine a brighter spotlight on Virginia from the ACC. Virginia's defense is praiseworthy. Just tell that story in the UVA write-up. I don't think this is an isolated issue in one column but a pattern for this writer throughout this current season. Having said that, if UC advances in March it will silence many skeptics who, right now, are questioning the gaudy win/loss record.
