RE: Worst class I’ve ever seen
Guy who can’t recruit adds another retread. Illinois grad transfer.
I think Bono has decided that most kids can’t handle 4 years in Dismal Flats, but they can probably stick it out for a year or two.

If the sun comes up, Bono’s recruited a retread. The poor guy is addicted to taking in stray dogs. It’s a halfway house for homeless football players.

Wait until the recruits find it this really is ALL there is to do in Mt. Pleasant.

I mean... disc golf is actually quite popular in this state.
We have more than 10 disc golf courses in the area. You’d be surprised at its popularity.

RE: Worst class I’ve ever seen
I agree, 2016 was a perfect schedualing scenario. We’d just come off two 8 Win seasons and realistically would have won 10 games with 2015’s schedule. That said, we still beat you by 39 for the third in a row.
As long as our QBs stay healthy I see another big blow out in Mt Pee.
I think you have a better chance of winning on Tuesday than next year in FB. This team has regressed. Keno has got better with less.

RE: Worst class I’ve ever seen
For the love of God, stop acting like your 8-5 year was a magical season. You got killed by Miami, dusted by UT, caught NIU with an injured All MAC RB, and avoided being down 35-7 to Western when our first day on the job freshmen QB fumbled a snap at the 5. Then you got totally gobsmacked at the Freeze your Ass Off Bowl. Yes.....a magical season. You’ll be living off these memories until Bono is fired in three years.
I’ll readily admit those #1 classes were bogus, when many of them never cut it. But apparently they were good enough to go 35-15, beat you 3-4, win in Peeville by 40, win a bowl, beat P5’s, get four guys drafted, etc etc. I don’t see that changing much with Lester’s recruiting vs Bono’s retreads.

CD, I certainly agree with you that the WMU fumble at the CMU 5-yard line was a pivotal play, turnovers usually are. I will point to another one in last year's game that was also huge. The Chippewas, trailing 21-7 at the half, scored on their opening drive of the second half to cut it to 21-14. After stopping the Broncos (3 and out) and forcing a punt, Mark Chapman fumbled the punt return at the CMU 25 with 10 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. WMU used just three plays to score a TD off this turnover and go back up by 14 points, 28-14. So you see, turnovers work both ways.

Don't act like you had even the slightest chance last year.

Notice how easy it is to post here. No nutty moderators here
Kind of doubt that was pivotal in changing a 39 point outcome.

I didn’t say it was a magical season. I said it was “pretty good” and suggested that it was far better than the 3-win season that you predicted. As far as what you do or don’t see, I’ve told you before dip, predictions aren’t your strong suit. Whether, it was your call that WMU would win 7 or 8 in Fleck’s first season, or your prediction that WMU would “run the table” in the MAC last year, the results haven’t been pretty. You make Miss Cleo look like Nostradamus.

Well of course you didn’t call it a magical season, but for 8 games and 3 quarters of football you were calling for Bono’s head and by the end of that 9th game you were talking about Bono like he’s Belichik.
My predictions were based on what’s on the field in September. I couldn’t predict a QB, 2 RBs, a DE, 3 WR’s, and two DBs going down. I couldn’t predict NIU’s best QB being in the dog house and replaced by as RS freshmen. Couldn’t predict NIU’s All MAC RB would be hobbled the week before they played you. I couldn’t predict that one week your retread QB couldn’t win the Dr Pepper Challenge and then the next week he’s Tom Brady.
But I can say with confidence that in spite of our injuries if our QB with zero game experience hadn’t bobbled a snap at the 5, that game would have been over. I don’t think in any respect Bono had a good team. And that was shown in several thrashing’s. Bono literally caught every break imaginable to scrounge up 8 wins.
I’ll make another dumb prediction. You’ll be calling for Bono’s head next year just as you were until the Miracle on Stadium Dr.
PS Notice how our mods aren’t afraid of conflicting opinions. Yeah, you’re welcome. #slappies

Doc you remind me of every prof I ever had. They’d speak in broad platitudes, but when asked for details they’d drone on with more empty platitudes because the devil is always in the details.
So how bout you come out from behind your protected message board and tell me exactly where I’m “making up facts.”
There’s clearly a grain of truth in this thread, if there weren’t you folks wouldn’t be responding and trying to defend it in your little fortress of solitude.

LOVE the way you pistol-whip the dirty Chippewas!
Like Chiprule, Doc is too much of a coward to address you face-to-face on this, or any other message board.

Strange, I don’t recall ever calling for Bono’s head, nor do I recall saying he’s a great coach. His results wouldn’t support either statement. Have other individuals on the Scout board had those opinions? Sure. Not me.
As to your repeated statement that we wouldn’t have won if your rookie qb didn’t fumble, I’d respond: we did win and he did fumble. One of the luxuries of winning is that you don’t have to spend your time making excuses for it or explaining it away through what-ifs and could’ve beens. That’s for the losing side to do. So, please, carry on.
Yes, you are banned from the Scout board. Not my decision. Not one that I supported. Quite frankly, that’s why I came here. It occurred to me that if I’m going to post something re: you, I might as well post it where you can respond.
