Game 9 - UNH

Hopefully, we run the streak to 8-0 for Jimmye over McDonnell in the 'Burg.

Wow. He's honestly looked like our best QB this year

RE: Game 9 - UNH
I agree zablenoise and so do the statistics (granted the sample size is very small for his competition right now)

PASSING GP Effic Cmp-Att-Int Pct Yards TD Long Avg/G
Tommy McKee 7 106.5 65-123-7 52.8 717 6 37 102.4
Shon Mitchell 3 47.9 22-58-3 37.9 140 0 14 46.7

However, I think if he actually is the #1 on Saturday it is because of the gameplan. Despite a strong overall defensive outing against JMU, UNH still allowed the dukes to run for 116 yds in the first half, 164 total. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the backfield and us rushing the ball a bunch on Saturday. Handoffs, lots of read options, and even QB keepers.

On the flip side UNH throws the ball very effectively and that matchup will be a big decider in the outcome of the game.
#2 Pass Offense in the league vs #2 Pass Defense.

As mentioned in other threads, we're really banged upon both sides of the ball, so I'm just hoping our guys come out and play hard for 4 quarters. You never know what could happen.

With Tommy starting, I hope Jimmye has increased the number of Read-Option plays in the game plan. If you are going with a run first QB, then give him some running options.

RE: Game 9 - UNH
I agree billymac and as I stated in my post I have a feeling that's what the gameplan will look like if he has in fact moved to #1.
When he has been brought into the game these past few where he hasn't started it has been to do just that.

He's a tough runner who isn't afraid to try and get the extra yard so hopefully we can string together some first downs and keep their explosive offense on the sideline.

It was interesting at the JMU game I got to talk to a former player and he said that our read option isn't a true read option but rather a called play.

I don't know why I got confused. Thanks for the correction.

Will Mitchell is the fast one as we saw on the fake punt.

You could almost say he’s been the best offensive player this year.

RE: Game 9 - UNH
New Hampshire's star quarterback left the JMU game early in the fourth quarter with a lower body injury. His status is "uncertain" for Saturday.

He is a legit talent. 2nd in the conference in total offense behind Lauletta.

JMU folks commented they thought he went down with an achilles injury on Sat. We'll see.

I truly hope not. Achilles injuries are so hard to come back from. It happens but it is a tough road.
