Her final 3 was JMU, Villanova and Boston college.
This looks like a huge get for Sean and the LD’s

Great pickup for us. Saw this in her hometown newspaper article:
"Villanova has offered. So have St. Joseph’s, Penn State, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Colorado, Boston College, James Madison and West Virginia. Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, among many others, have been involved.
Even UConn, the NCAA women’s gold standard, has made contact."

The athletic trainer at this school is a good friend of mine. I'll see if I can get any more information on her that can be shared. Looks like a great addition to the Dukes!!

Sean mentioned a big commitment on the JMUsportsblog podcast this week.
Edit- Kiki knows what's up with purple and gold. Nice.

ZOWIE! Pretty soon they're going to say the same thing about Coach O that they used to say about Pat Summitt...that he doesn't recruit, he just reloads.

I talked with my friend this weekend. She says Kiki is a great player that can play almost any position. She says Kiki is really excited about coming to JMU and becoming a member of the WBB team. I'm looking forward to meeting this young lady!!

RE: WBB Recruiting/Signees
Quote:Jefferson was a three-time Lancaster Lebanon League First-Team selection. She was also a Lancaster Lebanon All-Star her freshman season. The Lancaster, Pa. native earned First Team USA Today Pennsylvania honors her sophomore year while also earning the USA Today Pennsylvania Player of the Year honors her junior season. She is the reigning Pennsylvania Class 4A Player of the Year who helped Lancaster Catholic go 32-0 last season in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, District Three and PIAA championships. She began her senior season with 1,873 career points, which is already eighth-best in league history. Jefferson also plays for the Philly Belles EYBL.
Coach O'Regan on Jefferson: "I'm very excited to have Kiki join our family. She's a very talented, competitive young lady who will fit very well into our family. She fits exactly what we look for in a recruit, she's bright, energetic and passionate."
began her senior season with 1,873 career points
Young and Reynolds graduate this year, but we'll add Jefferson and Tucker. Hopefully we can find someone to replace Logan's hustle...pretty incredible to watch her play.
I think Jefferson will be HUGE for JMU. Sounds like she has played some solid competition and...owned them. Just keep building momentum Sean. Between our coaching staff, solid players, and new arena coming...just keep winning and we'll keep getting these recruits. Next year's recruiting class will be giant and tough to replace (6: Cooper-Williams, Koshuta, Benitez, Smalls, Barrier, Merritt), so this is an absolutely crucial year to get that round of players interested.

RE: WBB Recruiting/Signees
I have a question about Nikki Oppenheimer...is she a point guard? Because if she's not, who's going to back up Maddie Green next year? Or does Coach O have somebody on his radar? Maddie has to have a backup just in case. Everyone else looks like a shooting guard.

It's hard to say since her sit-out year keeps her from any extensive time with the starters. Based on what I have seen at practice she is a 1/2. When the team scrimmages she is on the scout team with the 4 male practice players and one of them is a major ball handler also. This is the role Benitez had last year as she was with the guys too. She also fills in with the second group of 5 when some of them rotate in with the first five. It is tough sitting out for a year but she is making good use of her time IMO. Frankly it is tougher being a male practice player as you are sitting and waiting the majority of practice.

Where did you get that idea? The only NCAA regs on male practice players are that they can't travel with the team, they can't be recognized or receive any compensation of any kind, including scholarships. Every school with a decent women's team has male practice players. Most of them are guys who could have gotten schollies at other schools, maybe D-II. Some I know of have even been offered D-I but chose where they are for educational reasons.

May be confusing the "men" as the guys of the Men's program?
A (male) buddy of mine played on the practice team at JMU while we were there. Pretty cool.
