Man, to go from playing in New Orleans against a decent C-USA team to playing Eastern Michigan, who has almost no football support and could easily go 6-6, just demonstrates how painful that loss was. Granted, I know it's not as bad as it was 5+ years ago when the Sun Belt had a deal where it was, "Win the conference or stay home." But still. App could go 9-3 with two losses to top 25 teams and get rewarded with a game against Eastern (not Western, not Central) Michigan. Wow.

Geez, App is not going to get that game. Look at SB Nation's continual idiotic Mobile matchup. There is no way on earth AState rematches with Toledo in a bowl.

If that scenario existed, our two schools would swap bowls.

The MAC needs a bowl tie in in the Midwest. How about a bowl game at the Hall of Fame field in Canton.

Have you been to the Midwest in the Winter? It's not pleasant to be outdoors. They did have the Little Caesars/Motro City Bowl at Ford Field, but that folded and now its the Quick Lane with Big10 vs ACC. The only other indoor options in MAC territory are Indianpolis and St Louis.

EMU has had a very hard time recruiting and building a fan base because they are 5 miles from Ann Arbor where are a very large football name resides... The Eagles are actually pretty solid defensively and have a pulse on offense. I wouldn't call them a push over. They stood firm with Toledo and WMU and knocked off Wyoming and Ohio this season.

St. Louis is probably pretty hungry to put something in their empty building. Even if is just one game. Indy is right in the middle of MAC territory.

But don't give me weather excuses, they still play in Boise.

Not to mention those Montana vs Montana State matchups, often played in the middle of blizzard conditions. Those are a "must see" when they're televised.

Yeah, Boise isn't a great option either unless you are Boise playing in it. Regarding Montana/Montana St, that's a totally different thing because it is either a regular season matchup or playoffs, both of which is at the home field of one of the teams playing. What conference in their right mind would want a Bowl Matchup with the MAC in the Midwest at an outdoor venue? They would not sell many tickets and easily go in the hole for the bowl.

You mean like all the tickets they sell for the St Pete and Bahamas bowl??? There are a lot of bowls with terrible attendance, ESPN wants the tv content, they couldn't care less if no one showed up for the games.

I know its not a big TV game, but I would much rather spend my December weekend in Orlando then any of the other bowls.
