That's so stupid. Some FCS schools are bigger than FBS schools by number of students and size of campus.

I have no problem with the media referring to FCS teams as “small programs” but I agree the small school thing doesn’t make sense.

"I’ve always had to put that extra foot forward, and coming from that small school, having to prove yourself, it gives you more fuel to the fire to keep doing well. It means a lot and I’m just going to take it from here.”

C'mon Andrew! Don't perpetuate the "small school" talk. I know we are FCS and this is what he means, but with over 20k students, JMU is not small. Wish we could shake that term...

Love the signing though!!! 04-rock02-13-banana04-rock 04-cheers

You know what?

While I agree with you in real life, the more melodramatic sentimental side of me finds it both appealing and refreshing that people still feel that “small school” feel about things there.

Its what has largely made it such a special place for so many of us, whether it was 5000, 7500, 9000 or now 20000 plus. Still feels like home.

Kudos to those in charge for at least getting that part still mostly right.

Now, go fix that MBB program...

RE: Pro Dukes
A few notes...

1. When doing my annual pre-draft look at the Redskins roster, I think the signing of Ankrah not only makes a lot of sense, but he has a terrific opportunity to make the 53-man roster. I expect the Skins to use an early draft pick (rounds 1-3) on an OLB in their 3-4 scheme. In fact, I expect the Skins to use 2 picks on OLB's by time they are done Saturday. Losing Preston Smith to free agency opened a starting position that may be filled by Ryan Anderson or a high draft pick if we go that route. Ryan Kerrigan is the set starter at the other OLB position of course. After that, there really isn't a whole lot on the roster after those guys and Ankrah. If he performs to his potential, he will be on the opening day roster.

2. For the Skins haters out there, you'll be glad to know Moreland is highly unlikely to go to Washington as the roster is very deep with defensive backs and especially corners. (now that I've said that, watch 'em draft him) I don't see WAS drafting any DB's and if they do it is likely they take a safety to compete for a backup spot in one of the late rounds.

3. The NFL should be releasing the full regular season schedule some time this week. Most likely day is Thursday, one week before the draft starts and consistent with last year...but, could be as early as tomorrow/Tuesday.

Not only a great pitcher but very photogenic. Is she that pretty in person? During games her hair is always in a pony tail so she looks different. I have never seen her in person.

I hesitated to post for fear of your post. With the Me Too movement, are older men no longer allowed to call young ladies pretty? Through the years this was seen as a compliment. Has that changed?

She could be my granddaughters age, if I had one. I have always been a creeper, except now I am Old.

There are a lot of reasons so many old men attend the games...

Newest draft prediction posted today has Jimmy going in the 4th round to the Chicago Bears with the 126th pick.

Also not related to JMU but still interesting, the Titans are projected to pick WR Ashton Dullin from DII Malone with the 121 pick. Good to see that scouts will still find diamonds in the rough from lower divisions

Thats nothing new at all. Every season a # of Div II are drafted. Just skimming the 2017 & 2018 drafts Div II drafted (I might have missed a couple):

2017 draft:
2nd Rd/45th pick Bears: TE Adam Shaheen, Ashland
4th Rd/144th pick Colts: DT Grover Stewart, Albany St.
5th Rd/147th pick Bears: OG Jordan Morgan, Kutztown.
5th Rd/181st pick Jets: DL Dylan Donahue, West GA.
6th Rd/192nd pick Panthers: FB Alex Armrah, West GA.
7th Rd/226 pick Seahawks: WR David Moore, East Central OK.

2018 draft:
3rd Rd/72nd pick Jets: DT Nathan Shepherd, Ft Hayes St.
3rd Rd/94th pick Bucs: OT Alex Kappa, Humboldt St.
7th Rd/238th pick Ravens: DE Zach Sieler, Ferris St.

I don't have ESPN+ but maybe if someone does they can provide the section about Jimmy.

http://insider.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/in...-more-most

I'm assuming he is one of the 10 since the article is listed on his ESPN player page:

Here ya go...(from ESPN+ article)...

Jimmy Moreland, CB, James Madison

Position ranking: No. 11
Overall ranking: No. 85

This one is cheating a bit because, unlike Saunders, we don't have all of Moreland's snaps graded. The ones we do show one of the feistiest corners in the entire draft class, though.

In the five graded games we have of Moreland the past two seasons, he allowed 23 receptions on 46 targets but picked off four passes and broke up three others. He finished his career as James Madison's all-time interceptions leader, with 18. Moreland is as physical a 5-foot-9, 179-pound corner as you'll see (he racked up five penalties against East Carolina back in 2017). If you can rein him in a tad, you'll have one heckuva slot corner.

I know that that todays focus should be on pro football but I saw a tweet where Andre Nation won an award for player of the year in the league that he plays in professionally in Ireland.

Can't help but compare Nation and Moreland- supremely talented guys from Florida- one made a mistake and did what it took to get back on the field the other unfortunately made a few mistakes and never go it together on the court.
