RE: Baseball RPI
I don't follow our baseball as closely as some here and on our board, but I think that we have a number of significant contributors who are young, so hopefully we can improve on our 5th place finish next year.

I agree we have to schedule better OOC games and win more of them. The top RPI conferences not only get theirs from their records but just by virtue of the conference they're in. We have to up the ante so that the conference, as a whole, moves up and not only us, but other top teams want to schedule us in hopes of an RPI boost.
This is actually an up year overall in the current structure of the conference. Helps that only 3 teams are under .500

2010 - 7
2011 - 6
2012 - 16
2013 - 5 (last year with F_Us, WKU, 4 teams over 40 wins)
2014 - 11
2015 - 13
2016 - 9

I still wish there was something we could do to not penalize the high RPI teams by playing in the conference tournament. The SEC & ACC have developed high RPI for teams even with losing conference records simply by playing against higher RPI teams. The SBC will usually have between 2-4 top 50-60 RPI teams but take a hit just by playing in the tournament.

Not trying to be douchey, but I actually did spend a few minutes looking into this before I posted, and I believe we were tied for 5th in the conference standings, but 6th seed in the conference tournament due to losing the season series to you guys.

Either way, I hope we are in good shape to finish higher next year.

You are already leaving home the bottom three teams.

This year, NO ONE in the tournament is under .500 as we begin play.

We dogpiled in Troy and made it to a super regional.

The key is bringing in new guys who compete right away.

Last year we did it with three freshman starters and a freshman closer.

This year they're sophomores.

Next year they'll be good.
So BOP, other than seniors, are we not expecting to loose anyone else?

Of the four starters, Marks is a draft eligible sophomore. As is Dylan Moore. But I would not think either would leave after their sophomore season, especially Moore who is a 4.0 pre law student.

Reagan Bazar will be drafted and I imagine will sign

The draft is what I worry about the most. We lose a couple of solid seniors in Darien McLemore, Matt McLean and Jacob Moreland. However, our top 2 pitchers, Kadon Simmons and Joel Kuhnel, our 1st team SBC catcher and Johnny Bench semi-finalist, Brady Cox, 2nd team DH Colton Turner and 2nd team LF Quintin Rohrbaugh are all juniors and all made heavy contributions.

The draft is a funny catch-22. Great to have them taken, great for recruiting, but what could a team do if they kept those seniors?

Cajuns have thought the same think in 2001 and 2015. If I'm not mistaken we lost 9 junior the year after we went to the CWS and 7 after the 58 win team in 2014.

I'd just say that you guys have a better track record of finding good, young talent then we do. We had a recruit drafted on the first day a few years ago and signed out of high school. Otherwise, I can't think of many freshman having a great impact since Michael Choice.
