Thoughts...? UTA needs to stop knowing how to beat ranked teams while blowing games against "lesser" competition. Win games against teams we should.

As a whole, the conference needs each team to win a few more games in OOC.

We probably finish 10th if AState and Texas State don't pull off big OOC wins on Tuesday.

RE: Baseball RPI
I have to think this was a really down year for most of our teams and it is totally reflected in the conference RPI. I agree we have to schedule better OOC games and win more of them. The top RPI conferences not only get theirs from their records but just by virtue of the conference they're in. We have to up the ante so that the conference, as a whole, moves up and not only us, but other top teams want to schedule us in hopes of an RPI boost.

Some teams scheduled really difficult, but caught some bad breaks. Georgia Southern had a litany of games against 200 plus RPI teams, but 3 of those were against a Memphis team that is normally pretty decent, but instead absolutely stunk this year.

I'm not one to point fingers, but Georgia State's OOC schedule this year was an absolute joke. They played 15 games against teams RPI 240 and below in OOC play. Almost all at home.

I believe our team RPI went up after our series with Clemson as well.

It wasn't a great year for the Sun Belt, but CCU coming in next year will give us a boost.

Thoughts?

It's the best we've been in a couple of years.

There are some teams that really need to beef up their OOC schedule....and win some of those games.

We are going to lose a number of seniors and are expected to lose a couple of key juniors. Next year may be a down year for us as we have to rebuild a bit.

We lose our entire weekend rotation and big bat in Hill. Then a few other seniors, a couple to draft? Rumors we may lose a couple to transfer. I can see us being totally gutted.

Offense should be fine I think. Pitching we may be bad. Hennigan could be back if not drafted so we may not lose the entire weekend rotation.

No excuses, just being realistic - when a team loses 5 senior starters, the closing ace, and another key bullpen guy plus a good likelihood of losing at least 2 junior starters to the draft it is reasonable to expect a team to need to rebuild a bit.

Our baseball scheduling is always awful. Part of the reason is that Rodney Hennon knows rubes love to point out he wins 30 games every year.

sadly, while the girls have been busy signing several standout players from this years state playoffs, I dont see any uptick in incoming personnel for the baseball team. we have slipped to #3 in the metro area. we need to figure out how to get better.

I doubt anyone loses more pitching than South. We loose our 3 weekend starters and the first 5 (in terms of innings pitched) of our relievers. We also have to replace 1st base. second base, 3rd base, and possibly center field.

You guys know how good we were two years ago. We lost our entire weekend rotation, two of our best relievers, and just about our entire offense except Trahan and Thurman.

We dogpiled in Troy and made it to a super regional.

The key is bringing in new guys who compete right away.

Last year we did it with three freshman starters and a freshman closer.

This year they're sophomores.

Next year they'll be GOOD.

So BOP, other than seniors, are we not expecting to loose anyone else?
