At this point, the spilt milk games appear to be Dayton and Hampton. Those are behind us, but as Billy Mac has pointed out opportunity lies ahead. I'm thinking 7 more wins will get us in. Those will need to be achieved 1 at a time.

Case can be made for 14 leagues to get multiple bids:

It also talked about between 9 and 14 leagues to get multiple bids. Sitting as the 9th rated league should put the CAA squarely in the discussion. I'll believe it when I see it though.

RE: ESPN Bubble Watch
Remember, leagues don't get bids, teams do.

When they say 9-14 leagues could get more than one bid, all they are saying is that each of those leagues has one team that could get an at large bid if they don't win their tournament. For years Gonzaga was in that category, but that didn't mean a second team would get in if Gonzaga won the tournament.

On a side note, our NIT opponent last year, Tulsa, beat #16 SMU yesterday.

Well, The Tribe's bubble got popped this past week, sadly.
It is obvious we need to win three straight in Charm City to finally be able to go dancing

My hope is for UNCW to win out (except for our game) and lose to us in the CAA Finals, setting up a two-bid CAA.

They were hoping the same about us up until about 10 days ago. IMO, they would've had to beat G'town to have a shot at an at-large.

You guys were our last hope. No way we get at large. Look at Murray State last year.

UNCW's OOC schedule and loss to Georgetown doesn't even put us in bubble conversation even if we won out. It would be the easiest snub of the year for the committee.

I think you'd have a good shot, actually. You're receiving votes. If you won out, beat a team like Elon, then JMU, and lost to us in the final you'd have an RPI around 29. That would be tough to ignore having won so many games coming from a strong conference.

The receiving votes is what got my attention. That shows that somebody's paying attention. No matter what our RPI was, we never got votes.

RE: ESPN Bubble Watch
Murray State was ranked in the top 25 before their 1 point loss in the conference tournament, which knocked them out in the eyes of the selection committee. Votes are nice but it'll be tough to make an argument for UNCW at-large. Win out, lose in championship is only scenario, but we've all seen teams like these passed up before. Sad to see us have such a strong conference more than likely be 1 bid again.

Edit: though now that I look, Murray State's RPI was just 64, while UNCW's would be a lot higher than that.

This tread is dead......two bad losses to Howard and Drexel and no post season option unless we win 3 at Baltimore...RPI soared to 77 from Drexel loss.

I'd argue that even the possibility of an NIT invite is vanishing as well
