RE: Towson Game
Tarpey 4 points and 3 rebounds. That's not good enough.

RE: Towson Game
We haven't quite figured out how to out physical a physical team. They beat us in intensity and muscle the second half.

RE: Towson Game
Don't give me any excuses about being tired from the game Tuesday either. They will be MORE tired, against a better team on Saturday. We should probably just forfeit and stay home due to exhaustion. The formula to beat us should be clear to the whole league now...thug it up with streetball style and we'll fold like a deck of cards.

One game. Regroup and do better. We're either very good or very bad so get used to it or you'll drive yourself nuts for 3 months.

Well, I'm not forgiving the performance, but this is CAA play. This team and other conference teams are going to win some they shouldn't and lose some they shouldn't. Understandedly fans are disappointed, but it's one game in a long season.

Agreed. This is a jumpshooting team. There are going to be hot games and droughts. It's the nature of things when you have limited shot creators inside and on the perimeter.

RE: Towson Game
Painful to watch, but no long term worries. We lost all momentum and rhythm when Sheldon came out due to foul trouble. Seacat will be fine, but right now he gets pushed off his spot and the offense stalls. Towson was running through all of our guys breaking up passes crashing boards etc. Thought the refs were doing their job in the first half, but they could be blowing the whistle every possession. Its going to be a battle in the CAA, and they cant afford the extended letdowns.

RE: Towson Game
Simply put, we got out physicalled. That is what it is. However, have been in a mysterious 3 point funk for about 3-4 games now. That needs to come around.

Towson Game
You guys will be fine. It's one game. The way the CAA is built this year there will be losses spreading around. Nobody is getting out clean.

Bottom line...RPI will be in the 80's by tomorrow. You can not lose conference games at home to bottom feeders...period!

I've followed this program too long to get worked up over one game in December.

Thank you. That troll needed to go back under the bridge as fast as he came out.

RE: Towson Game
We started the second half by playing the starters for about 6-8 minutes, then they looked gassed the rest of the game. When we went into our scoring slump, Omar & Dixon were both on the bench and we had 1 starter on the floor. I know we're deep, but the rotation worked in the first half because we mixed in the bench with the starters. I'm not completely blaming Coach Shaver here; it seemed like about 4 minutes went by without a whistle of any kind. I kind of thought we should have taken a 30 there to get into our normal substitution rotation. At the end, all of Dixon's and Prewitt's shots were short. Tarpey also killed us on offense tonight. Against pressure defenses, Omar and Daniel need to be the players getting the ball at the top of the key, not Terry. Both Omar and Daniel had success with drives in the first half, and didn't get a chance to continue that in the second half.

RE: Towson Game
16 turnovers leading to 21 Towson points doomed us this afternoon...combined with missing many shots we usually make. Also believe the three games in the past week sapped us somewhat.

Cohn and Sheldon, with a few moments from Seacat, were the only guys who played well today. Cohn's best game since NC State.

Got to forget about this one and get ready for a quick turnaround with C of C.

RE: Towson Game
The constructive criticism, as well as the insight, by some posters makes this board a good read, but a loss brings out the worst in a few of you. Towson is an athletic, physical team, and it used its athleticism on the offensive boards. When our 3s aren't falling, we need to compensate on defense, and we didn't--much to Towson's credit. But to say that we must suck because we didn't win tells me that you didn't watch the game. This game will not be an outlier for Towson, nor does it portend a bad season for the Tribe. I predict a lot of floor burns on Saturday because these guys do care.

RE: Towson Game
I thought there were times, especially in the first half, where we did play excellent defense. Tarpey was in on a number of consective steals/break ups at one point. We defended the post and rebounded much better in the first half. The second half got out of control quickly, which surprises me because we have been playing our best ball in the second half. I do blame a little bit on fatigue, but mostly on the getting sloppy and careless at both ends of the floor.

Tough game on Saturday. I think we've done a pretty good job guarding Canyon Barry over the past few years, but he's been outstanding for the Cougars so far.
