Every SBC bowl location and date sounds just fine by me. App is bowl eligible in its first year of eligibility. I'll be there with the usual suspects supporting the team. See you wherever!

More than ULL for sure since they couldn't muster six wins.

because you have the sat game and we have the christmas eve eve game. Why do you think mobile is taking GS over app, when app beat us? They know we will bring more fans. It's that simple. They usually take the highest ranked sbc team but in this case they will take us since we travel better.

Actually that's false, something stAte fans have said over and over to make themselves feel good. They don't take the higher ranked, they always take who they think will make them the most money. Nola gets first pick and always picked us for obvious reasons, financially, godaddy gets 2nd so they always picked stAte because the champion must be taken. I agree if they take you its because they think you will travel better. Bowls care about money, they don't care about rank...not at our level anyway.

GoDaddy likes to take have a champs matchup if they can get it. That is well known.

Ok champ... Where you think yall going this year? And why? Godaddy gets 2nd pick, it's not up to them... They want the money matchup. NOLA, yep...they want money too. Financially it made sense for stAte to go to godaddy and us to Nola, that's what the bowls wanted, that's what benson wants, that's what all our schools administration wants....$$$$

Go Daddy appears to be picking a closer school than the better team this year, so the theory they always pick the best team isn't holding water this year.

It never will and never has. when all we had was Nola and godaddy, Nola picked money over champion. There used to be a rule that Nola had to take the champion twice every 4 years, they did away with that rule because it limited the chance to maximize dollars. The SBC champion must be placed somewhere, that is the only rule in place. Nola gets first pick and they will take whoever they think brings in the most money. Godaddy gets 2nd pick and they will pick whoever they think will bring in the most money. Camelia gets 3rd and they will pick who brings in the most money. Cure will do the same. TXST will more often than not be screwed unless they are champions or we get an Austin tie in.

The fact that GoDaddy picks second does not change the fact that they prefer champs matchups if they can get them. This year they cannot.

Because you're much closer.

Get over Yosef. Georgia Southern wouldn't travel any better to an equal-distant spot. You really are the chihuahua fan base of the Conference.

Here's what I know: GS brings a lot more people to Boone than App St brings to Statesboro when the teams play each other. There's your equal distant analogy.

if app state were champs, they wouldn't be in the godaddy.

If we win next week we'll have ten wins. I just think most of us expected better than probably the fourth best bowl the Sun Belt offers. You can criticize all you want, but I think Montgomery would be the last choice for everyone in the conference not named Troy or USA.

Don't get me wrong, it's super cool to be in a bowl and we'll be there regardless, but it is a little disappointing of a selection compared to the other options.

It's last for everyone in the conference. What kind of idiot AD would bypass a game on ESPN against an 8-9 win MAC for a game on CBSSN against a 6 win AAC?

We've made it very clear several times that we'd love to go to Montgomery. Its about a 6 hour drive from Jonesboro.

Well, I'd pass up Montgomery for Orlando. I get the ESPN thing, but I'd rather have a Saturday game and not be playing on Christmas Eve Eve. I have a seven year old... and that is going to be hard to pull off.

The Cure Bowl is in a prime time slot and is our best OOC tie in.

Y'all love Montgomery? Great, how about y'all go back there and play on the 23rd. We'll be glad to go to Nola on Saturday.

Huh? We'll pack the Crampton Bowl. Just explaining to the Stink trolls why we (and they) wouldn't (won't) bring a big crowd to Go Daddy.

Outside of your close P5's and your really close title games in Chattanooga, what history do you have of traveling?

Every single away game we've had outside of Stinkboro

You mean all those games in NC that you traveled to?

The App travels well idea is a myth.

I'm not saying we're some behemoth when we travel, but we're one of the top traveling schools in the conference. I haven't seen enough of the other schools yet to see if we're at the top, but I haven't been impressed by what I've seen so far.

App's never traveled to Statesboro. We take more to Boone every time.

Thank the Lord. Neither game against a MAC opponent sounds that exciting so we might as well play on a Saturday. Of course Georgia Southern is going to travel better. They are so much closer than we are to each location. Mobile would be fun but the date makes it so hard to attend. Now I won't hold my breathe but we need our fourth team so let's go Georgia State(because we aren't letting the South Alabama kitty cats out with a W).05-stirthepot

Boone or Statesboro in October, couldn't imagine why.

That's your empirical evidence.

Both fanbases are much more similar than either would like to admit.

The difference in bowl attendance if placed equadistance from CLT or ATL on the same date would be minimal.

The 23rd is going to be bad for either fanbase, but likely not as bad for GS as their fans are on average three hours closer.

I would say it's between us in the conference from what I've seen from you and I know how we travel be I'm usually there.

Funny thing is GA St could break the hearts of GS twice with one win as they would go to the bowl the GS fanbase have coveted all year. Unlikely but it's college football.

You'd rather play a 6 win UCONN on a television network that not a ton of people pick up, than play an 8 win Ohio on ESPN?

Look, I know Orlando is awesome, but the TV and opponent sucks. There is a reason it is the last pick in the Sun Belt.

You're more worried about a travel destination than supporting your team.

That is the difference.

The Sun Belt got quite the rivalry when GS and App,were brought in. You name it- we will argue about it.

The truth is we are very similar programs.

If USA and Ga State both wins, it would help the conference get more money from bowls. Losing to Liberty and Charlotte are costing Ga State their 1st bowl. I would like to drive 2.5 hours up to Montgomery for a bowl again. The GoDaddy Bowl used to be in January right before the BCS title game. so it should be a little warmer in December than January.

If it is true, I'll be there tailgaiting and would be happy to have a beer with some GS fans before, during and after the game. You won't be disappointed (maybe the stadium if you havn't been there). 04-cheers

My group has pre-ordered tickets for all of he 4 bowls (9 for any Saturday game, 8 for Mobile), but I haven't been able to get them to agree to go ahead and make hotel reservations. Makes no sense to me.

It literally makes no sense, you can book through any of the online sites and cancel with no charge up until like the day before.

Well, finally convinced them and reservations are made.

Not necessarily on the money part, actually a good chance it would cost everyone money.
