If it is true, I'll be there tailgaiting and would be happy to have a beer with some GS fans before, during and after the game. You won't be disappointed (maybe the stadium if you havn't been there).
We will likely bring 3 to 4 times as many people for a bowl game as we brought last year, I was at that game and we will do a lot better for a bowl game I expect.

Is it that we haven't embraced Mobile or that we're not embracing December 23? Montgomery is closer and has a better date, but Mobile sounds like the more fun place to visit. I'd imagine, if it wasn't for the extra hours to get there and the awful date, that GoDaddy would be the preference.
I wish, instead of having two Alabama bowls, there was one in Charleston, instead. Apparently we don't need an additional tie-in, at least not until we, as a conference, start beating more teams out of conference.

I don't really understand that line of thinking. Why would we be embracing Mobile before we know where we're going bowling at?

Did your athletic department handout a ticket order form to see how many tickets you would buy to each bowl?
Yes. Online form to reserve tickets for all the games.

Went all 4 years to GoDaddy to watch stAte. Had a fantastic time. If you can swing it, you can drive over early and stay in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. Weather is hit or miss but the winter rates at Condos is pretty cheap! In fact, my family is probably going to go to NOLA and then drive over and stay at the beach until the 24th anyway and then drive home. We always would drive to Mobile the night before, take in the parade, stay at the team hotel go to pep rally etc. After the game, back to team hotel for big party and welcome the team back from the game. Great Fun. We like to eat at Felix's our by the Battleship. Also can't beat paying $5 and riding the bus from downtown to the stadium. Beats the hell out of parking. great set up.

My group has pre-ordered tickets for all of he 4 bowls (9 for any Saturday game, 8 for Mobile), but I haven't been able to get them to agree to go ahead and make hotel reservations. Makes no sense to me.

I would reccomend flying into Pensacola or Biloxi. Each are about an hour away and are usually much cheaper than flying directly into Mobile.

We travel just fine, but the date of this game made a 8-10 hour drive tough on a lot of fans. Had the game been on the 19th our fans would have bought more tickets to Mobile than Montgomery. We had plenty of people willing to drive to the Cure Bowl which is roughly the same distance as Mobile due to the date.

Tell me about Montogmery. I've never heard anything good or bad about it, except the racial tensions in the 60's. It's hard to get excited about a place that is so lightly advertised. Chattanooga, by contrast, is a known entity it what we view as a cool town.
Orlando and New Orleans need no introduction. Mobile, for App State fans, may require some introduction, but what I've read is that people are raving over it. What are we supposed to feel one way or the other about Montgomery?
Chattanooga a cool town? Downtown Chattanooga is OK, but 2 miles from there and it's a dump. Even the Chattanooga Choo Choo, one of their biggest tourist attractions, is in a dilapidated state these days.
I'm certainly not with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce but I've been through there before and thosugh it was a neat city. But I'm a history buff and Mongomery has a lot that appeals to me. First and foremost I'm going for the game not to tour the city.
RE: News spreading on our board we are going to GoDaddy Bowl
We enjoyed Chattanooga on vacation.
For GS fans. If there is any way to swing it...grab it. Mobile does a good job. It is your first bowl game. Nothing like taking over someone else's downtown as the guest of honor.
And remember that WKU fans had to drive to Detroit in a blizzard to their first bowl. You have it good.

It's going to be strange not seeing red and black everywhere.
Georgia Southern radio crew and Alumni Association need to check out Wintzells and start planning if the invite happens. It's a great place to hang out downtown
