Like I posted on another thread, Fleck needs to get a break-through or signature win.

Glad David agrees with me.

RE: NIU prediction
Until I'm proven otherwise, I just anticipate the game ending with NIU have a larger point total than us. They're kind of in our heads like they are in Toledo's. If only CMU could share their dirty little secret with us.

Hope this is the season to get the monkey off the back.

David Drew: It's Now or Never

Brilliant column by Drew.

And I've always said that I can support all the RTB mantras and rituals, but outside of the playing field. Don't like it on the unis or in-game rowing motions.

Can't be "elite" until you beat the elite.

But then - this isn't the year, right?

Meh, the clips of internal/locker room silliness don't bother me. If the kids have fun and buy into it, then I don't care what a few opposing fan message board posters say.

Would just rather not give opponents something to mock during the game itself. The oars and trees, the rowing songs, the roWEr jackets...

"Losing is learning" -- Fleck, from Drew's 11-17 column.

We've done enough learning. Time to start winning meaningful games in November.

Yep, and I enjoyed Drew's commentary on that in the final few paragraphs.

This, as well as his Ga Southern post-mortem column, have been money.

RE: NIU prediction
Only thing I would like to see is: Bowling Green-Toledo-Northern the two deep maybe on both sides of the ball compared to WMU in CLASS ONLY...Is it really fair to expect WMU to win the big games now if they are indeed playing with a ton of young guys going against NFL age players?
That BG sideline looked like a bunch 25-30 year olds...

RE: NIU prediction
BG has 19 Redshirt Sophomores or younger on their Two-Deep (not including Specialists).

Toledo has 16, NIU has 21.

We have the same as BG but several positions are listed as "OR" for back-ups.

RE: NIU prediction
So where would you rank each of the four Toledo-Northern-Bowling Green-Western in OVERALL experience- i.e. playing time, games started, not asking you to dive in to this, but what do you think? My gut tells me: Toledo and Northern about equal for 1st, BG second, WMU 3rd.

^ Don't know but like Drew's column and several commenters - getting tired of excuses such as youth-inexperience and "next year will be the year" promises.

I had 21, must have erred. Thanks for clarification.
