A shocker in Williamsburg as Drexel upsets the Tribe on senior night! A win tonight guarantees us a top 2 seed in Baltimore

I love the CAA. We might sabotage each other, but where else can a good team like W&M beat the 1st place team then lost to the last place team at home in 3 days? The CAA is our baby.

We need to secure the NIT bid with a regular season championship. Beat CoC, beat Hofstra and the Towson game won't matter. Say to 2nd. place.

2 years in a row we spoiled their senior night. Unbelievable, truly. 2 of the best Tribe teams and 2 of the worst Dragon teams.

Not to try to distract from the title game tonight, but there's a very real chance that 30 % of the league's coaches could be out of a job this week. Matt Brady, Bruiser, and Monte Ross all could be gone.

He's entering the final year of his deal in '16-17, meaning there are only 2 options: Extension or firing.

With the freshman/sophomore classes looking unimpressive this season, Ron Curry's graduation will likely mean they're in for a rough season next year. Allowing Brady to be a "lame duck" once again would hurt their recruiting even more.

Also, the writing is on the wall for Brady with these tweets:

Quote:Dave Johnson ‏@DaveJohnsonDP Mar 5

JMU coach Matt Brady, whose job security is reportedly in jeopardy, was asked if he expects to return next season. "No comment."

Quote:Nick Sunderland ‏@NSunderland4 49m49 minutes ago

Through a university spokesman, AD Jeff Bourne announces Madison men's basketball team will not play in the CBI, CIT or Vegas 16.

In the same email, the spokesman said Bourne will conduct his postseason meeting with coach Matt Brady "as soon as possible."

Yeah that sums it up. I hope JMU gets someone good but this is a risky move for a guy who had given them around 20 wins a year

Anyone who has been in NC for a while can compare this situation at JMU to State and Herb Sendek. Ask State fans how it's been since they ran him outta town!

What do y'all think about William and Mary's NIT chances? I feel they deserve it. Their RPI is good enough. I hope these 1 seeds losing don't suck up all the at large bids and knock them out

JMU fans all seem to think it's a slam dunk hiring someone that is going to be a cut above Brady. I think they will regret it in about 2-3 years unless they get lucky.

The odds of that happening are incredibly slim. We can sure sympathize given the nature of our program following the 2006 season until last year.

RE: CAA basketball - 2015-2016 season
JMU needs 3 things to happen, perhaps in this order:

1. Begin providing Cost of Attendance stipends to student-athletes in order to better compete for recruits.
2. Hire a young and hungry coach.
3. Begin making improvements to their arena.

All of those are possible if the Administration gets their act together. But right now they're treading water with Brady, and I can understand the desire to make a change after 8 seasons. Fear of not being able to find a better coach is no reason not to make the move.

It has already been done and tweeted by Bruiser himself.

Well, now we'll see a new era of Drexal basketball. Any ideas who Drexel has their eyes on Dan?
