RE: Congrats Red Wolves
The Q Lee incident had everything to do with it. It was the wrong call then, and still was the wrong call.

I fully expect a Sun Belt Screw Job to come soon on our end. If We win our next 2, Karl Benson gets the lovely job of having to come to Jonesboro for the Texas State game, knowing if we win, he has to come down on the field in front of all of his "adoring" fans and hand us the trophy.

I'm sure he's really looking forward to that.

The last time he did that, was quite eye opening.

I'm lost. What's the beef between Benson and Arkansas State (or at least its fans)?

Couple years ago, one of our best defensive players made a big hit in the game that wasn't flagged by the officials. Conference reviewed the play as they always do, and the head of officials declared the hit legal in his report to Benson.

Benson overruled the head of officials, declared it an illegal hit, and suspended for our guy for 1 game. A few weeks later, he fired the head of the officials.

As always, our fans gave him hell on Twitter for the decision. One of them, during a particular rant, actually got a response from Karl, asking for his phone number so he could call him. The two actually spoke on the phone, and it became very clear during the conversation that Benson didn't like us.

Few weeks later, we beat MTSU last week of the season in one of the most famous games in school history to win the league. Benson comes down on the field and gets handed the Mic for his usual Speech congratulating us. The crowd proceeded to boo him so loudly that one of our administrators had to plead for us to calm down. (We didnt)

He was booed until he left the stage, and has hated us ever since.

That's right I forgot he wasn't even flagged on the play. It still boils my blood.

The other thing was when the rumor got out that he was trying to place a short-time WKU in a bowl over A-State. Never knew if it was true or not.

But one of our local reporters raised the question about the conference bylaw requiring conference champions to be placed first.

His office password protected the conference bylaws on the conference website which had been public....and responded that the bylaws were just "guidelines".

Those shenanigans infuriated some of our fans (including me) who already didn't love him much.

Yes, there is nothing AState fans want more than the opportunity to see good ole Karl in Jonesboro again.

Nice win Wolves. It's amazing how you guys can get on a roll at some point during almost every game and light it up. The 3rd quarter was like an avalanche.......

Same here, CajunCountry. Although I expect our games will usually be mid-week ESPN specials due to the rivalry our two teams have formed over the years.

Thanks Speed. We've got a lot of respect for you guys, our coaches sure do as well. It would be pretty special if we could ever put together a 4 qtr game. 03-hissyfit

Congrats to the Red Wolves. Better team won last night. I look forward to this being a marquee game for both programs in the years to come.
