Sorry, seen Fritz coach the past 5/6 years. He's not one to make excuses for a loss.
However, seems he saw this and felt it needed addressing but I don't read into it as it being an excuse/reason for the outcome.

Exactly, App fans are reading too much into this.

Somebody is, but it isn't App fans.

I wish they'd found the ass hole and thrown him out of the game, but Fritz and the GaSo fan base are REALLY playing this up. You can repeat "I'm not using it as an excuse" all you want, but when the head coach is belly aching to the media a week after the game and their fan base is acting like this (likely small, handheld) laser was a Star Wars blaster, it reeks of butthurt.

Time to move on. I hope we police our games better. Moreover, I hope Southern fans can just let it go.

You gotta let the cardboard disc thing go then. We've heard plenty about that too.

No one is saying it's an excuse. In reality even if it did make an impact on the FG, obviously 3 points were not the difference in that game so it's not an impact.

But the fact that it happened at all is enough to raise the concern. Green lasers (in the 532nm wavelength) especially are harmful due to the amount of energy delivered when it impinges on your eye (yay engineering degree). Granted, at the range they were being used, permanent damage to eyesight is unlikely, but it's still not good this was happening.

Coach Fritz doesn't whine or complain about things, and he is very calculated in the things he talks about in the media. If he's mentioning it like this, it was pretty obvious. He's also protecting his players, and that's never a bad thing. I wouldn't get all upset about him talking about this.

I've made some jokes here and there, and haven't gotten bent out of shape about it (Quick didn't make the catch btw), and I also know GSU Eagles is in somewhat troll mode here, but the important thing moving forward is that the fanbase is aware of it and hopefully will help police it. I'm not going to go off and say it makes the App fans classless, it's just someone being dumb in the crowd.

However, this doesn't need to be something that keeps occurring either.

See, you really want this to be a butthurt issue when that is simply is not the case. Oh yeah... a coach mentions it one time in a fan radio show and you feel as if he is "REALLY playing this up". Reaching on this one Gonzo.

Again, you are reading WAY too much into this.

We saw the laser on the missed FG, and I swear I thought it was coming from around section 108 or 109, which is about where the GS band was sitting. I could be wrong but that's what it looked like from my angle.

So the GS band pointed the laser at our kicker - cool story, bro!! No one is blaming the game on the laser. this is just retribution for the poor app kids complaining about cardboard disks last year.

Black and Brown? Well if the traditional authorities can't punish this loser the fashion police will take them away for sure.

Ok, that's exactly the kind of comment this thread needed.

We lost-- no excuses. However I would assume App would not want this laser pointing issue to continue. It is classless behavior.

And before I get ambushed our fans throwing cardboard frisbee toward the App sideline last year was classless also. I would expect no frisbee giveaway next year when App comes to Statesboro.

Is there seriously a 7 page long thread about a laser? It's not even the off-season.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of our fans did the laser so our coach would blame it on your fans. I smell a conspiracy.

Wait until the off season. In truth, we developed the laser to med the bus windows and heat up the stepped on pizzas from 2003. 03-lmfao

...and to shoot down unidentified flying saucers, or Frisbees.

It just seems odd they didn't catch the person with so many witnesses and the fact that it occurred multiple times. I'm sure the group right next to the person knew who was doing it.

A GS fan in an earlier post identified the exact person in the stands.

Maybe security didn't know to take it serious.

I find it funny that no southern fans mentioned this affecting the outcome of the game, but many app fans making fun of apparently nobody for saying it did.

You know damn well if this would have happened in Statesboro last year, somebody would have brought it up just the same.

I saw a group smuggle a pony keg into the stadium once. Passed it off as an oxygen tank on the back of a wheel chair.

This laser stuff is too new fangled for me. What happened to the good old days, like when June Jones took Hawaii to Fresno and stepped out to yell at a ref went back to the sideline and saw a screwdriver sticking in the ground where he had been on the field.

LOL, I believe it! But god forbid you bring an umbrella in when it's pouring outside and the stadium is less than 50% capacity.
