Yes, thanks to those of you who listened. I won't deny I am very disappointed as are many EKU fans. I am hearing today that all stadium renovation plans will move forward anyway. Regardless of the decision that was made, I believe EKU is a good candidate. You won't find more loyal football fans and an administration who is determined to move our university forward.
Congrats and good luck CCU.

Moving forward is the smart move. Reclaim what EKU used to be and become too good to turn down. EKU has wandered a bit aimlessly in athletics for a time. Sounds like good leadership in hand just a few years too late for this go round

Quote:“The Membership Committee was impressed by all three institutions we visited. Dynamic, visionary leadership was observed at all three,” Hawkins told the Dothan Eagle in an email. “NMSU is a great university, but we were sensitive to the geographic location requiring excessive travel time and costs for student athletes and fans. EKU is an institution on the rise and will become stronger and more competitive in time. Definitely a possible member in the future.

No closing quote marks so I'm not sure if the last sentence was included...I do believe the other two will have consideration in the near future.

Just one more thing....
Seems as many were looking at things to do on a long football weekend (Myrtle Beach), I can tell you there's nothing like Keeneland on a fall weekend, home of this year's Breeders Cup. After a football game and a day at the track, hop on your flight for home (Bluegrass airport is right across the highway from entrance to the track). Just keep that in mind and put it on your Bucket List regardless.
