I could see a similar plan as charlotte 15k then build in stages.
I could also see them building bigger than expected and trying to bring a bowl game to Myrtle Beach.

Congrats to Coastal. They have allot of upside and room to grow.

Here is a crazy thought for you. The NCAA won't allow a team to just move up to FBS, you have to have conference invite you in. However, the NCAA doesn't control who the conferences invite. Which means, the SBC could theoretically grow to 24 members, inviting anyone we want, Samford, WCU, Wofford, yet a team like Liberty, with the proclaimed budget of a FBS team is left out in the cold. Makes no real sense, but then again, the NCAA rarely makes sense.

Congrats to CCU(my choice), we expect you to be as good as GaSo and Appy St in football, and better then them in everything else.

Congrats to CCU on getting the invite. Disappointed my Colonels didn't get invited, but we'll keep working to the eventual goal.

I think the east/west thing has been overblown in many ways.

Objecting to specific candidates for specific reasons isn't the same thing as not wanting an eastern member. Not wanting to add any stiff just to get to 12 isn't the same thing as opposing a title game outright.

Coastal is the first candidate to come forward that has had good facilities (sans football but there seems to be a credible plan), boosts the league in men's hoops and baseball and fits geographically.

I still want NMSU and if an acceptable next candidate emerges I want them paired with NMSU.

I announced it both last week and this morning around 8am. But, no big deal I'm just glad it's finally happening. The conference is a lot more in tune with what is needed than some in this board think. Great job Sun Belt!
